Kaedin 0
I might not be smart enough to completely understand the play, and maybe im missing a lot of key hands that set it up (maybe the bluff against freddy deeb is part of it)... but the hand is the A6 of DN vs the Ad 9 of Todd Brunson.Flop 8d6d6x, check/checkTurn Kd bet/callRiver was an inconsequential non diamond (Js)DN then bets 30,000 into a 18,000 pot.My question is... isnt 30k into a 18k pot the kind of bet that can only get called if Todd has the flush? Did DN specifically put TB on a king on the turn and in his mind had TB put DN on a flush draw, then tried to represent a missed flush/bluff with the overbet, hoping that todd would overcall with a bare king?If Todd had had a king, wouldnt he have raised the turn to prevent a free draw? Isnt a smooth call more idicative of a draw or maybe slow playing a flush against an aggressive player?Again, I realize Im no where near as sophisticated as daniel, so someone drop some knowledge on me. screech 0
Yeah, I don't think anyone here can give you much insight into what the thought process was behind the hand. No of us use the pyschology DN, or any other successful high stakes players employs.Anyway, I usually overbet the pot like this against fish, because I think that they think that I am bluffing and will call with any peice of the board. I'm not sure what DN was thinking - but it probably had something to do with recent history. Maybe Tdd had caught him bluffint with an oversize pot bet. Or maybe DN thought he would call with a K or put him on a flush draw. I don't know. And neither does anyonen else.
