Mesa Suspended Four Games

Link My question is, what the hell took so long. Anyone who pays any attention to baseball knows of the problems that Mesa and Vizquel have with each other. Mesa has publicly stated that he would plunk Vizquel every time he faces him.

Though I don't agree with Mesa being SOOOOO angry and publicly declaring that he'd hit Vizquel every time, I still gotta say that I side more Mesa on this one...what Vizquel did by blaming their losing the World Series on Mesa while they are both still playing is flat out punkish and bullsh*t. I can't see how anyone in baseball could even respect Vizquel after he is gonna trash his teammate like that just because he blew the save in the game.....I guess him batting .267 with one measly RBI in that World Series was okay...and I guess his .174 batting average with one pitiful RBI in the previous World Series was just fine...but that one blown save.....gotta blame it all on Mesa.Bottom line....Omar Vizquel is a little b*tch and if I were Mesa, I'd plunk him a few times too.

Yeah it was immature for Vizquel to say that in a BOOK, but Mesa should have just let it go. He should know that Vizquel was being a moron and just move on with it. We don't need more drama in baseball. We already have Barry Bonds.

Lol..get over it!??! If you were a pitcher and blew the World Series for your team, and then your own teammates write a book and blame the entire thing on you....you'd just "get over it???" No way.......as a player on a team sport, you don't put the entire blame on somebody else, especially considering that Vizquel hasn't exactly lit it up in the playoffs....

Like I said Vizquel was a moron for doing that but you can't put his life in danger by throwing at him. If he wants to do something then meet him in the parking lot or at his house. Don't bring it on the field and put other players in danger too. Mesa should have been suspended for more than 4 games to warn him that this is not a joke.

Mesa throwing at Vizquel does NOT put his life in danger....pitchers throw at batters ALLLL the time...it's just how the game goes. Mesa's only mistake was publicly saying he was going to do it "every time." Also, Mesa WOULD meet Vizquel "in the parking lot" if he could, but do you honestly think that tiny little Vizquel would show up for that?? Vizquel was awful tough when he was writing that book, but no chance in hell that'd he be that tough to say it to Mesa's face. Again, I agree that Mesa shouldn't have gone public with it and made it into THIS big of a deal, but if I were Mesa, I'd be throwing at Vizquel quite a bit too...Vizquel crossed the line BIG time.

Since Mesa's only (apparant) problem is with Vizquel, why suspend him now?Wouldn't it be better, since Mesa is on the record with his threat (promise?) of plunking Vizquel, to suspend him for the next Giants series. Has a suspension of that type been levied before?
