Stud Rules Clarification

Recommended Posts

Is it true that you can always double-bet on fourth street when you didn't raise or complete on third street, or does this vary from game to game? I've never played 7-card stud anywhere except PartyPoker so I just thought I'd make sure here.

In Stud-Hi, yes, ANY time a door card is paired, ANY player can double bet....and if the person that pairs their door card only bets the lower amount, another player can raise a double-bet on top if he wishes.

Wow, I was way off. I've probably played a good 50 hours of 7-stud, and I still hadn't figured it out. Thanks Koop.

I was playing either Razz or Stud 8 yesterday (was playing both at once, can't remember which game ti was) on Full Tilt, and saw someone double-bet an opponents paired door-card on 4th. So, I believe that in at least one of those games, you can also do it also, in addition to regular Stud.

I didn't THINK you could do it in either of those games, but I don't play them all too much, so I could be wrong.

Quick question, let's say it's four-handed.On fourth street Villain 1 pairs his door card, you double bet. Then on fifth Villain 2's door card pairs, can you double bet again?
No, it is only a 4th street rule.
