Guitarmy 0
Ok Im playing live and have played a few hands with villain, my table image is tight aggressive but i did show one huge bluff on a woman about 1/2 hour prior to this hand.Reads on villain: Lag and has done some stupid stuff like call an all in against another maniac with 22 on a J T 9 board only to walk into a set of nines. Another hand he played however was bvery tricky, he made a full boat on the turn and checked the river when flush card came and check raised all in and doubled up against nut flush..THe hand i have 77 MP, i limp after a few and a few more limp. my stack size is about 450, villain has me covered by about 200 on the button. We take the flop 6 handed.Pot 12$FLOP 6 7 8 checks to me i bet 15. Villain raises to 100LINE? results to come.

He might not have anything but 6-handed you want to knock others off & see who has a real hand. Even if someone flopped a str8 & pushes all-in - I have outs.
jjdylan 0
i assume everyone else is out of the pot by this point?....i really think that if the villian flopped a straight here he'd slowplay it a little more....but a raise that big in this pot just screams "go away" so im thinking he's got something more along the lines of 2 pair...or maybe a pair with the straight draw (89, 99 or even 56?) maybe even a set of 6s or 8s. hell, he could even have some kind of overpair that he tried to slowroll preflop and now hates the flop. Given your read on him as a laggy player who's done some stupid stuff in the past however, i dont see us getting away from this...especially since we do have some redraw outs in the case we are behind to a straight, or get turned by one. Since we cant really peg him on the made straight and we have about 10 outs (depending on the turn card) to outdraw him even if he does have the straight, i think most to all of our chips are gonna end up in this pot. I think if we just call here, we're in another shitty spot on the turn because its 95% sure he's going to make us face another huge bet if we just call and check to him on the next street. and again, at this point, i think becaues we have him pegged as a LAG we've got too big of a hand to get away from, and given that read, i dont think he's going anywhere with his hand due to the amount of $$ he's put in this pot. So i vote for re-raising his ***, maybe even pushing here on the flop. I think we're way ahead more than we think, and even if we're behind, we've got outs (unless he has 88). It really is a tough hand, im real interested in seeing how it played out.
fckthis 0
Very tough here, Im guessing a pair and a str8 draw. I dont see you laying it down here, and if you flat call hez gonna make a strong push on the turn. I think I might push and pray.
Guitarmy 0
THanks for the responses, I had pretty much the exact same thoughts. I didnt think he would play the straight that fast on a rainbow board and put him on two pair or pair and draw so i just pushed it trying to take it down there. He called and i thought i was in bad shape. Flips over 66, and doesnt hit his one outer. Seems standard i suppose but people at the table were saying that i was stupid for raising him after he made it 100 without a straight. just didnt want to think i was crazy. MasterLJ 0
Villain has shown that when he has a big hand he gets "tricky," by slowing down. He is not slowing down here which makes me think he has over pair, A9, 99, 55 etc.I really really do not like exposing yourself to going broke over a $12 pot, but if you're confident he makes stupid plays, then you need to call the $85 and push on the turn to a non-scary card. But in this case, you've got a monster, and a lot of reasons to think you're way ahead here. Think of it like this: He's shoving all his money in. Does he do that with the nuts, or less? I say less more likely, and even if he has the nuts, 1/3 of the time you suck out. So I can't see a scenario when I do anything other than push against this guy, or most guys for that matter.Mark
godoffrisbee 0
I think your decisions in this hand are all very sound, especially the info about the huge bluff you pulled off. At 1/2 NL, you could be the rockiest rock that ever rocked for hours, but if you show one big bluff, all of a sudden you're a loose maniacal idiot to everyone else at the table, so pushing here is optimal, since he has shown classic donktacular weakness with the massive overraise. Folding here is unbelievably bad because you're just throwing away a situation that is extremely profitable over the long run. Just calling here is also bad, because by reraising you're defining your hand as well as his hand. So if you were just to call the raise, you've invested a lot of money into a small pot in which you're playing very passively. Also, if a scary card shows up (i.e. a 9, T, 5, or 4), you may get scared and make some more mistakes. Therefore, reraising is a good play because he's making that play with so many hands that you have dominated or are at least a 2-1 favorite against. Good hand, and don't worry about what people at a 1/2 NL table are talking about. They know nothing.
