wow, i was blown out of my mind when i saw this. coincidentally, i saw it off www.planetstacked.com (the website of daniel's upcoming game). it's an experiment done by the BBC to see how many people can spot genuine smiles versus fake ones. there's a lot of research and study behind it, so after you finish the experiment, you learn a lot.i was literally blown away when i was reading the article after finishing the experiment. you have to watch the eyes--the eyebrow, the eye cover flap, and the creases around the eyes!!! this is going to be a big help when you're in a marginal situation for all your chips and you need to decide if the bettor has it.http://www.bbc.co.uk...surveys/smiles/sharing the knowledge, aseem

This is the stuff that Daniel is really, really good at.
"Phil Ivey should dominate Sklansky. It's funny that this match was mentioned here as most exciting, when the players in the room were thinking that it was likely the biggest mismatch on the board. Phil is close to a 2-1 favorite to win this match." Daniel Negreanu, shortly before Sklansky beat Ivey

i got 16 out of 20, but after reading the article describing what to look for, i was just completely out of my mind. i viewed all 20 faces again and immediately knew and understood which ones were fake and which ones were genuine. once you know what to look for, it's so visible! eyes creasing, eyebrows lowering, etc.i should also add that the great part about this link isn't the experiment itself, but reading and understanding the science behind smiling after the experiment.aseem

14/20. I got it, was going gangbusters through the first 16 missing just 2, then out-thunk myself on the last 4, missed them all going away from the bread and butter which was the skin to the outside of each eye (when it crinkles, it's for real). I knew the secret from one of my anatomy and physiology profs.

Good times for a change
See, the luck I've had
Can make a good man
Turn bad

So please please please

Let me get what I want
This time

Haven't had a dream in a long time
See, the life I've had
Can make a good man bad

So for once in my life
Let me get what I want
Lord knows, it would be the first time

fake: cheeks scrunch up, mouth is pulled up.genuine: same as fake, except that in addition, the sides of your eyes crinkle up, your eyebrows lower, and your eye cover flap lowers (so your eyes become smaller).aseem

The most obvious tell are the chuckles. The creases at the edge of the eyes and the eyebrows are the real tells for the remainder. Its all in the eyes.Thumper 17/20

I tried to avoid the chuckles because that's how I force a smile in some situations, a 1-breath forced chuckle. Just in case you ever figure out who I am and we end up playing live, there's your tell. Oh well, egoistic fallacy sinking me :D.
