When They Fight Back...

I usually don't go all crazy LAG when I'm playing sh NL, but all of you know that you'll at some point see a crazy run of cards. I find that when I'm constantly raising (I will do so with 10J suited or better if I have position) that my opponents will start to fight back, usually not by reraising but by calling bets with donk hands. If I'm in the middle of an absolutely sick run of cards, should I mix it up my limping/overraising with good hands instead of always just putting in the standard raise?

Mixing it up is what you do when you feel you have been marked as a certain type of player that you DON'T want to be. In this case, you are probably marked as a LAG, which is good if you are hitting those cards.If you have the cards, raising is always +EV. When people mark you as a LAG, and you start hitting the cards, that is an ideal situation.I want K8o to call my pocket QQ, or 78o to call my AKs. Raise it up!

Get MORE aggressive. The worst thing for any aggressive player to do is to slow down when you have big hands. People expect you to bet and won't believe you. This gives you an extra opportunity to get a ton of value in your large pre-flop hands with ridiculous raises.

Agreed.As an example, if you watch Live at the Bike (www.liveatthebike.com), and specifically Corporation Mike, you will see that he fires equally at pots whether he has it or not. Opponents are often confused as to where they sit in a pot with him. Sometimes costs him money, but often makes him big pots with big hands. The commentators often remark that players get suspicious if Mike DOESN'T bet into a pot, since they are so used to him betting at almost anything.If you can handle the variance, its the way to go.I highly recommend watching Live at the Bike if you haven't seen it. Hand by hand analysis, player reads and running commentary about how hands play out make it an excellent learning experience.
