jjgoldy5 0
I know it is preferrable to stay out of such situations, but sometimes it is unavoidable. For instance if you have been betting aggressively and getting called by one opponent, and you have the nut high straight, and the river brings the flush, or if you have the nut flush and the river pairs the board (especially if there is a qualifying low for which you do not have the nuts)You are first to act, a check here says ...I hate this card, take this pot from me.But if you bet, and get re-raised, you lose a lot.If your opponent is holding the nut lo, they can push you as hard as they want, so how should one play in this type of situation? cdddc75 0
Be more cautious out of position when your hand is vulnerable to redraws, I guess.Position really, really matters in PLO8.
Vman96 0
Position really, really matters in PLO8.Absolutely. I really hate betting a lot OOP unless you know the half you are betting for right now is safe against any future cards. For example....don't be betting straights very hard OOP....even if they are the nuts.If they are a chronic low chaser and do this low hand type bluff often....you can call if you think the low is all they got....but it's really really risky, and you will get scooped whenever you're wrong. And with these types of players....punish their *** when you have nut low + decent high hand.
