BeaverStyle 1
I think i played this hand to get the most out of it, but I'm new to Omaha hi/lo (well, kinda new) and was wondering if anyone would have done anything different.PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Omaha/8 (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is CO with J, J, A, 4. DonkSlayer 1
I like it. I almost always just call with what I think are the nuts on 4th street when I'm bet into, so I can get other callers or at least a bet on the river from the villain. You would've gotten reraised on the river if he had quads, so you're fine here. Nh.
Chamonyx 0
I would probably not have raised pre-flop with 3 limpers ahead of me.Flop is standard.Turn: should you raise here? I think so: 2 checks before the bettor are probably getting out when it gets back to them. Bettor probably has a 3 and puts you on AA. When you raise he may credit you with AA3x and as long as he has an A will probably call. If he fills on the river he will probably put in extra money there too. If he doesn't have a 3, it is highly unlikely he will call a river bet, so you might as well make him pay.River is standard.Ironically, it is the raise pre-flop that means you could milk this situation here - it is very hard for him to put you on JJ or TT based on your pre-flop raise. jjgoldy5 0
Every now and then, I will min-raise with a decent pair, that way if I make top set, it looks like I am continuing with AA, and get paid off big by a smaller set or str8, etcEvery now and then, I will min-raise with a decent pair (KK/QQ/JJ), that way if I make top set, it looks like I am continuing with AA, and get paid off big by a smaller set or str8, etcThough I am fairly new to this game, it seems like a very profitable play at most low .5/1 tablesI scooped an enormous pot with QQ23 flopping top set after a min raise, and got called down by a straight draw and a flush draw (wow)...neither player even had a respectable low draw
JacKingOff_suit 0
I like your play. I like to raise your hand for value in a very loose-passive game. Honestly is this a great starting hand in lo8? No. But does it have value in raising in the loose-passive game? I say yes.Calling or raising the turn is not an easy decision, calling allows the straight and flush draws to catch up dead, but it also gives the pot odds for QQ, KK, or even AA to catch up (No matter what you do here you won't be folding someone holding the 3 at this level).I am more likely to call here because only 6 cards (two Qs, two Ks, one Ace and one 3) out of 45 remainings could be potentially harmful to us (assuming our top boat is good), this is a gamble I will take and there's no huge implied odds at the end. cdddc75 0
I like going for overcalls with two still to react on the turn there. Raising blows everyone out and you only wind up with the same amount as you got here anyway, since villain will c/c the river instead of the b/c he did here.
