In The Last 2 Days I've Had...

Trips Kings sucked out 4 times.Trip aces sucked out three times.AA (5 times) and KK (5 times) beaten every time.Just an incredible bad run. Busted out of 3 tounraments and lost over a grand. It's not even the money really, it's more the shear number of unbelieveable beats that just keep coming. Not sure what to make of it, other than I am dejected asHell right now.Someone please tell me this isn't supposed to happen and that it will soon stop, K??Please???? :club::D:D:D Peace out everyone...

I'm on an unbelievable run of cards lately, having variance swing heavily in my favour in the last couple of days. The number of times I've hit the nut hand, only to have an opponent hold the second or third nut is just sick - but my bankroll appreciates it.It will happen to you too. Take a break, wait it out and take advantage when the cards do fall. It happens to all of us - happily you have us to vent on. :DDev

Play smallball and don't push so hard, even if you have the virtual "nuts". It might seem like I'm counselling timidity, but I'd rather call it "small c conservative". Hell, I don't even know if this advice is good, but you can factor it in anyway...

In the long run this kind of thinking costs you money, but if you're running horrifically bad this can sometimes restore some confidence.Oh and for the record... I never run bad like this... EVER. :club:

Very good point, Bubba, but it'll be up to the OP to recognize when he's starting to come out of his "bad run" and hit the gas. Sometimes it only takes 5 minutes...

those beats suck.you need to take a break. if you play everyday, take a 1/2 day off. if you play less take a whole day off.
Good advice...sometime I even take more than that off...just to clear my head of the beats and the feeling that I have to recoup the losses that I just incurred, you need to come to the table feeling ready to play and not care if you take another loss...not to play catchup.

Hang in there man. It will surely pass.I had a similar session saturday night. Lost 150.00 on consecutive hands with AA and KK.KK got beat by river flush (one card) he at Ad Thi had the Kd.AA hit my set, but he hit str8 on the turn with his 33. Happens and your upside is almost here!!!!

Ouch, I've lost about $250 with those kind of beats in the past 5 days or so, I think I am going to take it easy until my semester for college ends (about 2 weeks from now)...hopefully it will help. But in the mean time, I guess I will play Counter-strike...or play 1 tourney a day or something.

I went through a similar run and took 3 weeks off. It helped a lot
I'm not sure I can stand to even take 3 DAYS off*. But yes, it's good advice. Trying to play through when you're upset, angry, depressed, whatever, will often get you in trouble.*Is it only a "gambling problem" if you lose? :club:

Playing NL a month ago I lost the max buy-in 6 times in a row with pocket kings. All-in preflop and never once against aces or ace anything. I took a week off from nl and played limit, omaha and stud. I found it allowed me to refocus with out breaking my computer.

when i start to get all those crappy beats (yes i'll spare the details) i just pop onto PS and play in the $.10 tournies :) with 594 spots to cash (usually 1 outta 5) winning 49 cents for 32nd (like last night) feels like a million bucks :club::D:D:D
