I've been beating 1/2 and .5/1 over for quite a few months now, so I decided to take a shot at 2/4. At 7000 hands I am a $156 loser which comes to -.56BB/100. I honestly don't feel I'm being outplayed. If anything, the average player at 2/4 is worse than the average player at 1/2, and the average good player seems to be about the same. Going through PT I notice a few things.KK over 33 instances is only a .64bb per hand winner. This seems low to meI am only flopping sets 1 in 11.71 times. KQs over 19 instances is a 1.07bb loser per handKQo, KJs, KJo, and KTs are all slight losers. I am a huge loser with all pairs below 1010. I win lots of small pots and lose lots of big ones. Its wierd for me to get called down by two or even one players and then value bet the river and win the hand. I raise with aces and they all fold. I raise with AJo, get three cold callers, and miss the flop completely. This baffles me, as I make sure to only sit at tables with at least two players whose vp$ip is 35%+.I dont know how to check it, but it seems like I'm not hitting draws as often as I'm supposed to.However, I am still not conviced that its the cards and not me.My stats look like thisVP$IP 15.7 (this is lower than normal. I am usualy around 17-18)Vp$IP from SB 22.79folded sb to steal 71.43folded bb to steal 72.83att to steal blinds 31.91won$ when saw flop 39.23!!!!( isnt this very high?)went to showdown 35.55won at showdown 51.98pfr% 10.05flop aggression 3.15turn aggression 2.62river aggression 1.62total aggression 2.6folded to river bet 39.11Do you guys think its me or the cards? Anyone else ever have a 7000 hand streach where it just feels like you don't ever get winning hands. I keep getting even or up a little and then losing again, but it doesnt ever swing more than like 50 bets in either direction.thanks for taking the time to look at this.and I know 7000 hands is not a very large sample, but when people say that 10000 is enough to tell if you are winning or losing and I am about 3 days away from that, well im getting a little anxious maybe i cant beat 2/4.

I think that you might be over aggressive on the flop... do you ever check/fold on the flop? Seems like you might be going to showdown to much... won money when seeing the flop is high, but your VPIP is a little low...I would losen up a little, in 2/4 you can't just get paid off with your big hands the same way you can lower. You have to play more hands (in position), play some single gappers from time to time. Also table selection is important.

my vp$ip at 1/2 and .5/1 is 17 something closer to 18 i think the only change ive made is i cut out qjo, kjo, and k10o from early positions. i actualy play a wider range of hands now, as i defend my blinds more. i just dont seem to get hands very often. i think i am going to start only playing one table when i play 2/4. this might help me see more if there are too many players who are that much better than me. the set thing is what really makes me think i might be a winning player who is on a bad streak. that is a very large discrepency. if i hit sets in just like 5 multiway raised pots ide probobly be a winner for at least 1bb/100. quesiont though, how do i add more hands in position when there is often a raise in front of me. or can i play hands like 79s with one limper if im in the cutoff?another question, how much of an impact would making the occasional weak calldown have? i feel like i could find more folds, very often i will have a strong hand but just know im beat. but ive read that this is a very thin line to tread and you can easily end up folding lots of winners in big pots.

Defend the big blind more, see fewer showdowns.Monty
