Cheechoo was no chump before Thornton showed up.

Cheecho was not playing that well before Thornton came though. He's no chump but his game turned around a lot with Joe there.

I'm certain Fenxis will keep him.

Indeed. Right now I'm looking into how to clone him 2x for all my keeper slots

He wasn't a chump, but he's also nearly doubled his production playing with Thornton. No one but *no one* was mentioning Jonathan Cheechoo as a candidate for the Maurice Richard trophy pre or mid season, and now it's looking like he may run away with it.
Yeah, depending on who the Rangers face in the 1st round it's either Heatley or Jagr. You have to go with the guy who's team is most likely to advance.
Congrats to the playoffs teams BTW, I hate you all...

Yeah, he was third on my list closely tied with Staal.
You guys wouldn't even consider Thornton? He's easily the hottest player (besides maybe Cheechoo) on one of the hottest teams right now. Momentum doesn't mean anything? Ottawa is playing terribly right now...
I think I might just roll a dice, I suck at making tough decisions like this.

It looks like you'll be protecting Straka, Zetterburg, and Dallas (at least I would), so you're already ahead of the game with 3 excellent forwards. You need to use your first few picks on players who are at least 75% to see the second round. That means taking Heatley over Thornton, IMO. Nashville hasn't even blinked with the loss of Vokoun (granted they haven't really played anyone, Detroit tomorrow night will speak volumes), making San Jose's 1st round matchup a tough one. Ottawa figures to walk all over Montreal or Tampa, whomever they face and breeze into the 2nd round.
Heatley's been my bread and butter all season, and I'd take him 1st overall in a heartbeat if it was up to me.

I was planning on taking Tanguay over Straka, but I may re-think that and actually keep Stillman instead. Straka has cooled off since February, and Colorado probably won't make it passed the first round.
My strategy that I've been thinking about so far has been take the best players available regardless of what team they're on, and then worry about the second round IF I get there. And that would mean taking Jagr or Thornton. The other thing is that I really think we may see a lot of upsets this year, as I think the league is as competitive as ever, so no team is gauranteed to go through IMO.
So I'm still not sure who I'll pick, the only thing I am certain of is that I am going to torture myself between now and Wednesday evening.
And to sorry for hijacking this thread to whoever's thread it was.

Goals are worth twice as much as assists.

I know, and because of that I think I'll take Jagr if they're playing Philly (instead of red-hot new jersey), and if not, then Heatley.
