ok, here is the situation. UTG is on a level of tilt I have never seen before. I have been sitting at this table for just over an hour, and he is stuck about $1400 in the time I've been there, and this is a 200 max buyin game. I am trying to get in as many pots with him as cheaply as I can.

Hero: $215
UTG: $200
SB: $45

I pick up A icon_suit_diamond.gif T icon_suit_diamond.gif on the button
5 limpers before me, I limp, SB raises to $7, 6 callers, I call.

Flop 6 icon_suit_heart.gif T icon_suit_heart.gif 3 icon_suit_club.gif

Sb goes all-in for $38, UTG calls, folded to me.

here's the deal. UTG's range right now is absolutely anything that htis this board at all. this includes any flush or straight draws, including gutshots. he could have bottom pair, no kicker and make this call. He is also incapable at this point of letting go of a hand in which he has invested any money at all, and if I go all-in, he is calling 100% of the time.

Now, for the purpose of this scenario, lets assume that we know we are drawing nearly dead against the SB for the main pot. Is it worth building a ~$320 side pot against UTG with this marginal of a hand? even if we know we ahead 90% of the time? Should I wait for a better spot to bust this guy?

what if we think we can win the main pot 50% of the time too?

If you want to gamble, go all-in. You could wait for a better spot. I would rather go all-in on this flop with overcards and a flush-draw, like Kh-Qh, than a pair of 10's with an ace kicker.

If he's tilting as much as you say, he's not going to care about the aspect of a dry side pot, which means that you get value out of smaller pairs. It's definately worth calling for this price against the SB, so i don't mind raising in this position. Only thing is, you can really "build" a side pot. Even a min riase commits you to the hand given the villain's range. So really, a push makes more sense than anything as it will get a draw to call with a bad price and will get smaller pairs to call some times, but it's fine if they don't either.

If he's calling off his entire stack on the turn with anything that he calls the flop with, there's no particular reason to push now.

If the flush hits or a Q or K (for instance) and he pushes into you, you can fold. If he checks, push.

The great thing is that he wont feel obligated to be an aggressor on the turn because there was an all in behind, rather than if he was doing the betting himself.

He might run out of money before you find a better spot. There's always some urgency.

No way. Allways fold when you can get all in ahead.

Good luck.
