I'd be a lot more likely to bet the flop and check behind on the turn to induce a bluff rather then checking on the flop.

I don't get what giving a free card to hands that are behind acomplishes. We've got the best hand here a fair amount of the time.

in my experience a lot of blinds auto fold this flop when they miss

and these players are pretty dense so i'm not worried about my check making them suspicious

a free card is likely to make someone a second-best hand or induce a bluff

It's because unless they have a pocket pair they aren't calling you on the flop unless they have him beat. Also, the board is not very draw heavy so there isn't much sense in raising to knock out draws.

Yep.

Also, giving free cards to a gutshot here isn't horrible since the pot is small and getting them to pay off if they hit a pair is even better than getting them to peel the flop and fold the turn.

I should start doing this. Im autobetting on this all the time actually. What greatwhite said makes sense. I like the play. Hands that are behind are probably drawing thin anyway.
Life is the art of drawing without an eraser.

You guys think there's anything to be said for trying to fold better kings or weak aces with a continuation bet here?
