nell789 0
I saw that story too...What's the scoop on Semin, is he supposed to be the 2 in the capitals one-two punch, similar to Crosby and Malkin in Pittsburgh?

WestcoastCanuck 0
Semin is no Malkin (or Crosby or Ovechkin). He is a good player who will put up great stats with Ovechkin, but from everything I have seen or heard, he is no MEGA STAR.

He is a good player who will put up great stats with Ovechkin, but from everything I have seen or heard, he is no MEGA STAR.ya, that's kinda what I figured. If he's a good passer, then him an Ovechkin will get along great, if he's a goal scorer, then I'm thinkin he'll see some second line duty because if you watch the capitals play, the only time Ovechkin gets assists are when teammates score off of his rebounds. YEAH BABY!!! Semin will work PERFECTLY with Ovechkin, especially on the power play. Semin leans towards being a goal suck, and isn't afraid to crash the net. Like I said, perfect. These two dudes are going to rock. Seriously, I can see Semin coming right in and scoring 70 points next season EASY.

DanielNegreanu 141
Ok, 70 points may have been a little over the top, but I'd be happy to bet on 30+ goals.
digitalmonkey 929
Ok, 70 points may have been a little over the top, but I'd be happy to bet on 30+ goals. If Semin is put on a line with Ovechkin and they gel together then 70 points would be a very real possibility. gruven 530
Ok, 70 points may have been a little over the top, but I'd be happy to bet on 30+ goals. 30+ Goals for Semin next year? You, sir, have yourself a wager. (Note: remember, I'm poor, so nothing with more than 4 or five zeros AND a decimal point in it!)
DanielNegreanu 141
If Semin is put on a line with Ovechkin and they gel together then 70 points would be a very real possibility. Washington is so bad that he is all but guaranteed not only a ton of goal sucking power play time, but also a lot of regular strength time with Ovechkin. I don't have Crosby and Ovechkin, but I'm hoping that I can get the welfare version with Ryan Malone and Alexander Semin. I'm hoping both players with benefit and I think there is a legit shot that it will happen.
Belanger25 3
I agree with Daniel. 30 Goals for Semin playing with Ovechkin is not out of his reach.
Zach6668 513
Malone isn't going to do much with Crosby... Malone has been playing a lot of centre, and will thus be on probably the 3rd line next year.Colby Armstrong is your guy if you want to leech off of Sid's point production, or possibly Andy Hilbert or Jani Rita, depending on who the other winger is. Armie will probably be on the Crosby line for a while now.
sleuthis 0
30 goals is a definite possibility..........so is 6 assists
Drac 0
Ok, 70 points may have been a little over the top, but I'd be happy to bet on 30+ goals.I too am poor but will gladly wager that Semin will not score 30+ goals next year.Malone isn't going to do much with Crosby... Malone has been playing a lot of centre, and will thus be on probably the 3rd line next year.Colby Armstrong is your guy if you want to leech off of Sid's point production, or possibly Andy Hilbert or Jani Rita, depending on who the other winger is. Armie will probably be on the Crosby line for a while now.Rita has no chance (IMO) of getting Crosby time and Malone has next to no chance. Armstrong is the perfect kind of player to play with Crosby and while Hilbert looked darn good on the top line down the stretch I'd be a little surprised if the Pens didn't try to go get a complementary scorer to play with Sid. If Malkin does join the team next year there will be plenty of room for Hilbert to be a productive fantasy player. It's hard to believe Hilbert will be as good for an entire season as he was for the last month but it's also hard to believe that he was as bad as his numbers indicated while in Boston/Chicago. Zach6668 513
I was in Pittsburgh for the games immediately after the trade deadline, and they had Rita on the top line for those. I was quite impressed with his play, but yeah, he really doesn't have much chance.Hilbert really impressed me. I think he will end up on the top line, like he was for the end of this year. He does have a lot of potential, and it's not just because of who he will be playing with.- Zach
Drac 0
Ok, 70 points may have been a little over the top, but I'd be happy to bet on 30+ goals.Still interested in making a small wager on this? May not be worth your time but I'll gladly take the under on 30 goals and/or 70 points for Semin.

You had a had a complete hard on for Jani Rita though. That was a good read lol.Only three people said Semin could get 30. Daniel myself and sleuthis said 30 goals. I deserve a cookie. doox 15
Boy were my posts in this thread ever WAY off.Yeah, I saw your Rita and Hilbert prophecies and laughed a little I kinda miss Hilbert. He showed flashes of goodness while he was here.
DanielNegreanu 141
The guy is a goal scoring machine with all kinds of funky tricks. The next coming of Alexei Kovalev talent wise, hopefully he isn't as much of a headcase. Kovalev has been a Cheap Thief for his entire career.
