From that thread...

Dear David,We have received your complaint and have researched into your account. We have also examined the hand histories in order to verify your concern. We do see that you are an avid player of the game Texas Hold'em.David , we do understand your frustration about players who 'bluff' and bet or raise, to project a false scenario to other players, even though they do not have the best cards dealt to them. They only do this in an effort to intimidate the other players at the table to fold.Furthermore, the anonymity of online poker players allows them to be more daring (and sometimes even play bad), as they don't have to sit in front of their peers and colleagues and justify calling bets with really bad cards. I can assure you that in the long run; the good players make the money.Let me also assure you that the players you see at the table are all real players and it is not against the house that you find yourself playing. The easiest way you can convince yourself of this, would be to chat with the other players at the table. We have players from all over the world who access our tables and share the excitement. You would also be able to see their cities displayed. If you were to chat with them, you would be surprised to see how the world converges onto your computer, in your own home, through our tables. And David , I am sure that you would find this surprise to be a pleasant one.The bottom line is that at PartyPoker.com we do not use any form of robots or computer programmed players. All of the players you are playing against are real players. Sometimes you have to go through spells of what seem like horrible beats, but it is just part of the game, and what makes online poker more exciting than live poker. The site uses the most sophisticated and state-of-the-art technology to run the games. Our teams constantly monitor the game play in an effort to identify and prevent possibilities of collusion. Our continual commitment to the integrity of the site helps us to create and maintain fair, secure and a spirit filled environment where players enjoy an exciting gaming experience! This is what we want for our players,Fun you can bet on!Contact us anytime, we are available around the clock to assist you with your account related questions and suggestions.Sincerely,NikhilInvestigations Teamalerts@PartyPoker.com

Why, oh why, do I ever read General Poker?Oh yeah. For stuff like this.

I've been working on a posting bot. It peruses the threads here in GPF and quickly comes up with new and exciting ways to make fun of people. I'm expecting a working model to be finished in a couple months.

I'm not sure why you think that the issue is the skill of the bots, the issue is that partypoker is letting obvious bots play on its site.BTW these bots are ~45% ITM according to the 2+2 thread which makes them very bad for the game.

yeah they are bad for the game, I mean I am sure I could use the Kill Phil book to make a pretty damn good bot. they really have to do something to protect against this. If not every script kiddy out there is going to have a ton of bots running and ruin the game.

I've always been the first to laugh to myself at people whining about bots and rigged games. I don't plan on stopping playing anytime soon, but these have to be bad for the game. I never imagined there was a forum for guys doing this. Guess I'll have to rethink this.http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/13.09/pokerbots.htmlhttp://www.winholdem.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2201

I can't wait to find the time to work on an SNG bot. SNGs are very mechanical, and it'd be far easier than a limit holdem bot.I don't understand why they'd always sit in the same seats or take the same amount of time to act though, although the programming is certainly easier it's very stupid to let such obvious tells like these out.Work out how to beat them, and then exploit them.Don't bother whining about it, do something about it, we all know Party is useless.

The issue is NOT whether or not you can beat them...now. It's that they are allowed to play at all.Playing long hours with many bots with any kind of success getting ITM is +EV, and, will kill the internet game.Once this hits the public media, and it will, do you think it's going to have a huge impact on new fish jumping in the tank? These punks are only going to get better with experience. The only recourse is to pull our money from Party and anywhere else they show up.Emails mean squat to them, phone calls just annoy them, pulling our money, if temporarily, gives them a clue that we are serious.

...Exactly. So, logically... If she weighed the same as a duck... she's made of wood. And therefore... ...A bot!

Online poker.... rigged?! :club:http://www.winholdem.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2643That's one scary forum... I'm sticking to B&M now, and with a renewed sense of worth - I knew it wasn't the pr0n I was surfing at the same time that was causing me to lose money online!Quote from that website:"Now we are looking for a new site to play at. Is anyone else part of a team that wasn't caught? If so what site(s) do you use? We have a very good formula for cheating, it was just a dumb slip up with transferring money after the tournament that cost us. Thanks. And remember cheaters DO prosper. And i don't feel bad because the people we take money from were meant to lose the tournaments anyway. Am I right? Appreciate all replies."---Think this'll ever be a topic on the nightly news? I'd be interested to see what the average recreational player would think about it.
