Darren Daulton, the former Phillies catcher, claims that he can travel through time and do something called "astral travel". He says that he's 100% certain the world will end in December 2012 because he's seen how it will happen. What do you think? Is he the baseball version of Ricky Williams? Or is it somewhat telling the truth, as I've heard a lot of people say that December 2012 is when the world will end. Link to post Share on other sites

Hell, I don't really know....but he isn't just making that up...he's getting it from some type of (religion?) that he is following now...so I don't think he's COMPLETELY insane...just halfway insane. I tried some of the methods suggested to do it and came up mostly empty save for one or two weird experiences. I'm guessing that it's just a variation on lucid dreaming. I remember my dreams ever night, but I onlt go lucid once every two weeks or so unless I force it. Daulton's referring to astral projection, which is basically an out of body experience. I'm not claiming to know the mechanism, but I think that rather than a literal leaving the body, it's training the mind to release certain chemicals which trigger the experience. Google it...it's interesting to read up on. I'd especially recommend trying to a lucid dreamer. I've tried to astral project, and had little success, though I did experience the violent tremors that one resource said immediately preceeds being rocketed out of your body. I never made it further.I thought it was complete crap when I first heard about it. Now I think there's something valid about the experiences, but reject all the supernatural crap that goes along with it.Edit: Go here if you're interested at all. It's amusing if nothing else.
