Since I had him 'til the river, i tend to think I played it fine except that one bet. Although I was clearly representing something I didn't have. clearly not a bad beat, but annoying... any advice from you guys?$25 NL Hold'em - Friday, March 04, 10:54:54 EDT 2005Table Table 36697 (6 max) (Real Money)Seat 6 is the buttonTotal number of players : 6 Seat 1: clizayo ( $43.15 )Seat 3: Tidwell510 ( $7.25 )Seat 5: aubry20 ( $22.15 )Seat 10: Micky65 ( $20.9 )Seat 6: cdxx ( $24.5 )Seat 8: gmoore3442 ( $12.65 )clizayo posts small blind [$0.1].Tidwell510 posts big blind [$0.25].** Dealing down cards **Dealt to cdxx [ Js Ah ]aubry20 calls [$0.25].cdxx raises [$2].gmoore3442 calls [$2].Micky65 calls [$2].clizayo folds.Tidwell510 folds.aubry20 calls [$1.75].** Dealing Flop ** [ 4d, Qd, 4s ]aubry20 checks.cdxx bets [$2].gmoore3442 calls [$2].Micky65 folds.aubry20 folds.** Dealing Turn ** [ 7d ]cdxx bets [$3].gmoore3442 calls [$3].** Dealing River ** [ 8d ]cdxx bets [$6].gmoore3442 is all-In [$5.65]cdxx shows [ Js, Ah ] a pair of fours.gmoore3442 shows [ Kd, 9h ] a flush, king high.cdxx wins $0.35 from side pot #1 with a pair of fours.gmoore3442 wins $28.2 from the main pot with a flush, king high.

well you only bet 2 dollars into an eight dollar pot. he was getting good odds to chase his flush. oh actaully i just reread your post he shouldn't have called that first bet. regardless after the third diamond hit you game him great pot odds on catching the fourth. you gave him about five to one pot odds. his odds of hitting were a little better than 4 to one. you should of made a bigger bet. i've found that on low stakes no limit tables to chase off a flush draw you generally need to bet the pot, sometimes more sometimes less. but if it's not a very big pot you just have to over bet it if you think someone is on a draw. if they want to chase that then that's great. honestly though why on earth did you bet on the river when the third diamond hit. did you really think your a j was good. you should of probably given up after the bet on the flop or at least not bet the river with four diamonds on the board and none in your hand. i guess like you said you were representing something you didn't have. in that case i would have to say that a bluff right there is a definite -ev situation. especially when he has called all of your previous bets. dude's got a diamond. accept, your loss and wait for a better chance.

thanks. i should have given up. the river bet by me was idiotic. i think his pre-flop and flop his bets were unjustified, and given his history, i thought he'd call anything on the turn.
