GABMAD 0
ok, me and my brother have a heads up tournament out of a 100 games, we're playing one of our games and i ran into this hand. I was wondering which way is more profitable...Chips stacks:Me: 1950Brother: 1050Blinds: 20/40I'm in the BB and dealt 6d 9h.My brother completes the SB, and I check. (80 in the pot)flop 5c7d8hI check...he bets 60, I raised to 200, he raises to 500...here is my question. Is a better play here to move all in, or to call...then check and call the all in bet that is coming 90 % of the time.I was thinking that if he has a 2 pair or top pair top kicker, his hand can get weaker really easily, however, wouldn't it scream strength if i went all in? anyhow, the read on my brother is that he likes to call ppl up, earlier he called 400 into 1000 with trips 2 kicker 4 flush on board. I'll post what I did after around 10 responses...feel free to ask me for details
PotemkinCity 1
he's already got half of his stack invested, i cannot see him folding to an all-in, I'd put him on a set and pray the board doesnt pair. other than that, i think smooth calling is a bad decision.
bdc30 0
No kidding. You want ALL the money in the pot as soon as you can.If he does fold, that's not an altogether bad thing either, as you'll have him completely crippled with all your chips. You do have the best hand, at this point, but you have absolutely NO way to improve your hand at all.He could have a set, higher straight draw, 2 pairs, bigovers with some type of backdoor flush draw, etc, etc, etc...Get it all in right away. Taking the pot down here is a good thing. If he calls, hopefully you hold up...
MasterLJ 0
The above is good advice. Push. He's got way too much committed.Your hand is NOT improving. It's strong, but beatable. Get your money in now. He's giving you an awesome opportunity.
