Did I Make The Right Call?!

I was playing in the reload 2500 freeroll online tournament last night where the top 10 players make the money. It was down to 11 of us left (the Bubble!) and I was the average chip stack of 15,000. Blinds were 500/1000. On the button, I get 99 and raise to 2000. Big Blind calls. Flop comes down 6,7,8, rainbow, giving me overpair and open ended straight draw. BB checks and I make a pot bet of 4,000, leaving me with a 9,000 stack. BB raises me ALL-IN!! What should I have done…Laid this down in order to make it to the money?..or call to win pot and assure a top position finish????I decided to call and was knocked out of the tourny and out of the money in 11th place against AA!!! Very Frustrating. Note – BB had been playing very loose and aggressive all night!!Anyways – did I make the right call?Thanks – had to vent about this 1!!!

Don't minraise preflop.Pretty easy call postflop, getting over 2:1 on your money.

First, I would edit your post and take out the results.Second, you should include what the payout structure was like, and just how important at least cashing was to you.As for the hand itself, in many (not all) cases I'm not folding.
