Alex Powers got some guy on tilt so bad that he called Alex's bet with Queen High. I remember that it was an accomplised player but no quite sure who it was. I don't know what's funner: the fact that someone called him with Queen high or the fact that he kept calling it jack high. :D

ELLIX Powers was talking a lot of trash and poker author/player Jim McManus (Positively Fifth Street) got tired of it and called him with a jack in his hand. With the board, it was a queen high. Powers was a real character, he said he used to be homeless, and he says he lost a thousand dollars playing with pennies.(opposite of smash)

At one point, didn't Powers say he'll raise in the dark, and the other dude goes "You're disrespecting Poker!" lmaoMan thats great, but I can blow $10,000 and have more fun with it than tilting a table and pissing off some good players. $10,000 dollars would buy me a whole lot of bourbon, for example.
Suddenly I turned around
And she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists
And flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully
And took my crown of thorns.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

McManus said that Powers was doing that a lot, and was constantly raggin on David Chiu. There was a ot of antics that didn't make the airing that led up to his outburst

ya i hated that guy...they made him out to be a funny guy...but I didn't see any humor in that. Anyone that purposly doesn't things to try to get another player on tilt doesn't float well with me. It's one thing to raise in the dark...but its quite another to just raise in the dark to make someone mad.

It was just on ESPN2 again today....The coolest thing about that.... which I agree with anyway, is that Ellix used this to make a point.McManus was super pissed off at him, but when Ellix got up for a smoke after the "Jack High" incident..... Johnny "World" was actually praising him... saying that he's good for the game. The thing I agree with, is that Ellix was upset that people who had made at least $40 grand sitting at the tourney, could be so mad. I don't know if I believe that he was homeless and had like $90 to his name up to that point, but I know that if I had at least made $40,000 I wouldn't be too upset about it.Yeah yeah, I know... winner makes a lot more..... but $40,000 is still a ton better than not making the money at all.

i think the funniest thing about the hand is that Ellix won the hand with king high..........about raising in the dark and "disrespecting the game", Ellix is 100% right and Mcmanus is totally wrong. raising in the dark is a legal play, and in that situation it won Ellix a lot of money because he raised in the dark. mcmanus would not have made that moronic call if ellix hadnt dark bet. he so mad.....he call me with jack high. jack high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it is legal, but I'm pretty sure he was doing it consistently. He was making radical all-in moves and bets with no regard for his hand strength or the strength shown by others, but continually sucked out on people. I'm sorry, but if I was at a table with a guy like that, I'd have been just as mad.
