I know this is a broad topic but it seems some people here have had some degree of success at the MTTs online. I've been playing cards for a long time and have had ok success in live tourney's but have had a lot of trouble cracking the top 10 online. In about 40 tries I've made the money about 12 times and only cracked top 10 1 time. I need to adjust my game. I am just hoping to get some advice from some of you who have been successful at cracking the real money.I play a pretty tight aggressive style for the most part. I play a lot of live NL and I don't think that my strategy in that context translates well to the tourney context. I've been trying to loosen up, especially in the first few rounds of the tourney. I'm trying to catch a big flop cheap. I've done this in my last three tourneys and have done pretty well in the first hour but have gotten cracked without making the money each time. Maybe I need to switch gears in the mid rounds more. Before I would play my tight agressive style but end up short stacked in the top 20 and just trying to claw my way up. Always comes down to one hand where if I double up I have a chance. I obviously would rather be in the spot of big stack and laying the pressure on than waiting for a hand to go all in with and pray. Anyways any advice or suggestions on playing styles that work for you guys (and gals) would be appreciated.
