zipper 0
UB $20+2 SNG. 4 players, blinds at 50/100. Hero has $2,400 villian has $3,600 before posting BB (the other two have $6,500 and $2,500).Hero dealt Ace of spades Ace of hearts UTG and raises to $350. Villian in BB calls. Flop is KQ9 all spades. Villian pushes all in. It costs me $2,050 and the pot has $750 pre flop plus the $2,050 from the all in for a total of $2,800 (about 1.37:1).Recent history with BB is as follows: Two rounds previously he raised my BB from the SB to $200 and I reraised to $600 and he folded. Last round, he raised from SB to $300 and I reraised to $900 with AKo and he reraised all in. I called he had A 9 and caught a 9 to double up.Other info: 4 other times during the SNG he pushed all in on the flop which was significantly more than the pot and was never called. One of those times it was an all diamond board. My thoughts. He could be doing a stop n go and it is a scary flop, he could have flopped a straight, he could have flopped a flush, he could have a set, two pair or just one pair. The ace of spades in my hand gives me a lot of outs if he is ahead, but I very well might be ahead.Do you call, or fold and still have $2,050 in chips with the blinds still at 50/100 for another 2 minutes? anselm 0
I call this 100% of the time. I'm a donkey though so if someone disagrees I'd love to be persuaded otherwise. Right now I'm insta-calling this without thought.
amarillotg 0
i call this without hesitation. especially with the A in your hand. even if he flopped two pair or a set you have quite a few outs tow in and his history shows that he could have little or nothing.
iggymcfly 0
This isn't even close to being a close decision. You're probably up against something like a pair with a draw, and if you have the ace of spades, then that part of the draw's probably dead. I'd say you're probably up against 5 or 6 outs here. gobears 0
Insta-Push - you probably have the best hand and if you don't, you have plenty of outs.
Swift_Psycho 1
Under most circumstances, I couldn't imagine laying this down.
Mercury69 3
Pocket A's, 3 spades on the flop, As in your hand, all things say PUSH IT!
BeaverStyle 1
PUSH IT!It would be different if you didn't have the nut flush draw. Plus, his all in usually means he doesn't have a very great hand, unless he's afraid to play a hand against you postflop, worrying you'll draw out on him.
zipper 0
I am glad to see everyone agrees with my play. I did call and I was certain it was the right play, but woke up this morning with some doubts. Not because of the results, he had 99 for a set and filled up on the turn. My doubts stemmed from the $2,000 chips I still would have had and I believed I could have outplayed the table to make the money (but I prefer to win). The call became easy in my mind because of the ace of spades. Without it I probably would have reluctantly called.
BeaverStyle 1
tough luck.
zipper 0
tough luck.not worried about tough luck. Odds are you will get beat a certain % everytime you make the right play (only Phil H. cries over that). Based on all the responses, I think I will make more money calling here then folding over the long run, so THAT'S POKER!
copernicus 0
Change the As to another A and I dont think i risk it, but here it looks like an easy call
