strange, who bets .25 into $10.75...thats two hands ive seen where thi shas happened to you, and honestly, I duno, call him down I suppose, you you raise you can probably only get called if your beat. i don't blame you for being confused. I reccommend moving up to .25/.50 maybe .50/1

Yeah i took a bunch of money and basically started over..love to move up, bankroll just cant afford it.

Even though you claim confusion, you played the hand well. Often low-limit players lead into you with min bet hoping to slow you down, trying to buy cheap draws. Another scenario occurs when you raise pre-flop, then find opponent min-betting into you. Generally they have hit a small piece of the flop and hope the small bet either pushes you off over cards, or allows them to improve, again cheaply.Occasionally they will have hit a hand, and decide to slow play it. But the re-raise is the best way of determining this. After all the min bet is a pretty gutless play, and the re-raise asks them a big question.In my experience once you move above 0.25/.50 you seldom encounter this move, it is not considered a strong play.

I think this is what is known as a "blocking bet". But, I've rarely if ever seen it used on all streets like this.Normally you'd see people do this to confuse their opponent to just get a call and see a cheaper showdown or a cheaper turn or river card.FWIW I think you played this hand fine.

A blocking bet is usually much larger, and on the turn, to buy a free showdown, or on the river, to prevent someone from pushing in on you with a mediocre/moderate hand. Usually not both streets, like you mentioned.

I've seen it alot lately in tournament play too. Even when I flop top two or a set or something, I still find these people betting into me. I'm usually just as confused as the OP, but always happy when they pay me off with K-6soooted on an A-K-3 flop.

I think some people don't know they can check =) I've speculated that they want their opponent's PokerTracker stats to show that they are ultra aggressive.Just ignore the min-better. Never let the min-bet from a min-better make you scared. Make him define the hands with real bets.

Yeah, some want their stats to look better. And some also think that if their opponent has given up on their hand and already hit the check/fold button, then they win the pot by risking the minimum. But it's always a sign of weakness. Err, unless you get into level 2 thinking and so forth. Ugh, I'm dizzy.

Spot on. A $0.25 bet into a $10 pot is a check. It should be treated as a check, and if, after you bet a strong hand, you get raised, it should be treated as a check-raise. But it does manipulate PT aggression stats, and for most people that's a conscious thing.
