.25/.50 NLI have A-Jo (UTG+1) and about $48 in front of me.The SB has about $14 in front of them. I raised because I hadn't done that sort of thing in a while. A couple people called, including the SB. $6 in the pot. Flop K-4-3 rainbow I took a stab at it. It folded back to the SB and they quickly called.Turn: 2. He instantly fired in his last $8.SunDrop: "You really like that duece huh"Him: "Yes"SunDrop: "Cool"And I folded.The question is, what possible benefit could playing his hand that way have for him? Why would he give me a free one when he could've essentially made the same move on the flop? It was obvious he had the king the second he called...if he had raised, I probably still would've folded, but the possibility of a steal would've at least there. Instead it was a no brainer.

That's a donk or gay bet, not a stop-n-go. I don't know why people do it at all.

so you really think he had a K or the 2 helped him?if so, all he needs is for you to not have a K.lots of hands in your range don't have a K.edit: I mean... if you think he has a K, then he should play it like this...when he doesn't.

I guess he could've had 5/6calling flop, then leading a safe turn is definitely a viable route for hands as well.Nothing remarkable or silly about it.

I think if he has 5-6 he tries to trap me on the turn, knowing I'm likely going to put the rest of his chips in (although I probably wouldn't). If I check, he can make that move on the river. And no, I don't think the 2 helped him...I think he was just trying to be overly fancy with a king.

I didn't conclude he had 5/6, I said 'I guess.' Maybe he had a set. Maybe a king.and there is nothing 'overly fancy' about a stop and go if you use it to vary your lines.

my only thoughts on a benefit for him is if he has AK, and an ace comes on the turn he then gets paid off. but who knows really. I had a similar situation the other day on party had top pair on flop flush got there on turn and he instantly went all in, I called and he turned over 4 high and a str8 draw he made on the turn, it got there on the river after the money got in but oh well, and I had the nut redraw if he had the flush.A lot of the time an instant all in or pot bet is a bluff because if he had made a hand he would want to think about the correct amount to bet not just instantly bet something. obviously its an expensive tell to confrim if your wrong.
