I'll try and elaborate a bit on what Actuary said, so hopefully you'll understand how to play hands similar to this in the future.
First, let's put MP1 on a range. I'd say AA-QQ and AKs is prolly a bit too tight for your average .5/1 player, so we can extend this range a bit by giving him AA-TT, AKs, AQs, KQs, and AK. By doing this, we see that we are behind to every hand that MP1 has, outside of AKs/AK. Furthermore, the CO in the middle called preflop and on the flop, the flop hits many potential hands he could have like QJ, QT, JT, T9, Q9, etc.
Now, we usually raise a pot for 2 reasons: to protect our hand, or to push an equity edge we might have. So, why are you raising the flop? Your not protecting your hand, and you are very likely behind. Therefore, raising has no value here.
Still, you can't fold either, since you have some outs, so calling is the best solution.

hey, if devilslide don't care to answer..why should you!

Seriously, I was just wondering why.
Geting someone to think about their actions right/wrong is the best elobaration!
I like your answer aim!

To be truely honest Actuary, I thought your question was rhetorical. I tend to give you a lot of credit, and I figured that what you said was the end of the matter. I guess I'll try not to do that, but take it as a complement.
Thanks for your post aim, it was very helpful.
Now as to why I raised. I figured I was behind to MP1, but thought there was a small chance that I was ahead of a smaller pocket pair or Ak, AT, and the pot was large. I was planning on calling down, but I figured a raise would get CO to fold and improve my chances at showdown. I obviously wasn't paying too much attention though, because my raise happened after CO already called (but I got what I wanted anyway).
In conclusion: it was a stupid play, I don't really have justification for it, and it's embarassing, so leave me alone

It's not rhetorical
It's not a crappy play
I make much worse plays
Its intersting to think about the holding CO might fold if faced with 2 bets
And what MP has....
