I win this and I'm chipleader with 13 left. First pays $2.7k - not life-changing money but certainly nice. I was really in the zone and playing well and have no doubt whatsoever that had I won that pot I would've slipped into top 3 without difficulty. 816 people entered and down to the final 14 and they're still playing like total fish. Final table looked to be cake... but just wasn't to be. ACabral the Donkey went on to amass a huge stack before, unsurprisingly, donking off in 3rd. The winner was a luckbox who cold-called a re-raise all-in with 99 and cracked KK & QQ for a double bust. So 4 hours of solid poker down the tube for only $95 instead of $2700. Boo. Mercury69 3
2.7K is life changing for me. But anyway, I hate getting drawn out on as a favorite. I know it happens and I'm not going to say anything comforting here. Here a couple of my hands from the weekend, no histories:I have AJh, one opponent after the rainbow flop that was K-J-5, one heart. Turn comes another heart (Th, I think) and I decide to stay in even though I think buddy has a made str8. River comes Kh, so I make my nut flush. Go all in. Buddy has been drving the bidding with K-5o, grabs a boat and flushes me out of the tourney.I have JJ or something. Board comes J-x-x, coupla diamonds. I make a nice bet, buddy calls. Bet the turn, buddy calls, bet the river (3 D's on the board now, so I'm repping a flush, or trying...), buddy calls me down and shows 3-6d for a weasauce flush that sends me packing.I know I'm to blame for some of this, what with my poor betting and such, but these are far from isolated incidents.end :cry face:Anyway, blah blah blah...
