Hero is at about 5k in chips, average stack is about 3k. 120 left in a MTT with blinds at 80/160.UTG has about 2k in chips, Villain has us covered at 6k, Hero is on button.Assume that preflop action is a 2x bb raise by UTG and call by Villain and Hero, all others fold.Flop is A 3 5 Rainbow.UTG leads out for the minimum - 160.Villain raises to 1200.With what hands does hero raise (all-in), call, or fold?

Its a bass-ackwards way to pose a question! It involves figuring out what range of hands you would call with and not raise pre-flop, yet will got to war with after 2 bets on the flop.I would have reraised pre-flop with AA, KK, QQ, AK, maybe AQ on the button so I dont have those.I would have called with 77-JJ, AJ, and AQ if I didnt raise it.There is 1840 in the pot after UTGs bet, and before Villains raise. He is willing to bet 2/3 of the pot without any apparent draws, so you have to put him on a set or a solid A, long shot of Aces over. You are getting about 2.7:1 odds to call and can be priced out of a draw on the river, so you need think youre ahead or have 9-10 outs. Pockets dont give me enough outs, I may be ahead with AJ or AQ...the only two hands I can see calling preflop and here. If I were playing very loose preflop I might have 33 or 55 and call with the set.

9 or T...absolute bare minimum, unless you're tossing in some form of semi-bluff.

You have to have a pretty strong read on the villian to not make the play with AQ.That's what it pretty much comes down to.
