betonbet 10/20 LHE, 9 handed.

this game is super tight, and i'm walking all over it, pretty much. people keep respecting me, even though i don't deserve it. i just thought i might have gotten a bit too excitable on this one.

hero is sb with 66.

4 folds, HJ raises, 2 folds, hero 3-bets, bb folds, HJ calls.

flop: Qd, 2s, 8d.

hero bets, HJ calls.

turn: 9s.

hero bets, HJ calls.

river: 3c.

hero bets?

do you think my FE is large enough to make this final bet? i figured i'd throw one out there on a relatively draw-heavy board and a brick river, but my decision to start doing this sort of thing has coincided with a pretty hefty downswing. i like the metagame rep if i get called here--then i can go back to playing a bit more conservatively and expect to get some calls. there aren't very many players at this table who adapt very well, and i was planning on switching gears pretty soon anyhow, since i had been walking all over the table for so long. also, i hadn't 3-bet pf yet and shown down a little, isolated pair, so i figure the villain has to put me on a big pair or AQs or so.

If there are two things LHE players like, they are weed and pornography. The third would be kittens. LHE does not appear on the list.

i don't think anything that beats 66 is folding for one more bet. A busted flush draw might bluff if you check it to him. I'd c/c the river.

I think this is really close between a check/fold and a bet/fold. I don't like check/calling, because the only busted draw I see him betting here are non-ace flush draws. Not too many of them (KdJd/KdTd is all see).

I lean more towards a bet/fold, since you have been running over the table. This means one or two good things can happen if you bet:

1) He throws away 77/A8. You've been running over the table, and he doesn't care. He's still going to play his cards, and since everyone else is tihgt, he figures you're on a rush. No way anyone bets AK here, and 66 and down are pretty unlikely he thinks.

2) He calls with a weaker hand like Ax or 55. You've been running over the table, and he figures it's time to play sheriff. **** the board, he's going to look you up.

If you get called, you can use the image to tighten up a bit, and start saving your value bets for stronger hands. You also get to see what your opponent has, and how he feels about your play.

What he said. I'm bet/fold although I'm really out of my element at 10/20.

i guess bet/fold is an option, but i think you're getting raised very rarely. i don't like check/call, because i think most weaker hands check behind and stronger hands bet. i don't want to fold though, since given your reads and the board, this guy could easily be on AT, AJ, AK, etc. in fact, those are probably the most likely.

i think you bet/fold (though i'm suspicious of a raise), and let him call down with ace-high. he probably calls down with 77, 99 or JJ also, but there's a good chance he raises the flop with 99 or JJ.
