So after 6 years of semi-loyal service I was served my walking papaers at work. I was planning on leaving June 1st anyway but they didnt know that. So here I am with a severance, the option to cash out all or some of my profit sharing plan and my existing bankroll.Well last night I went to a NYC poker room and won $400. This morning I played two $50 SNG's and finished 1st and 2nd. So clearly I have what it takes (sw)I am a little shell shocked by the abruptness of this. But I was more or less planning to do this this summer. I am totally excited to give it a shot for 6 mos. to a year and see what happens. Plus the prospect of taking another regular job right now makes me ill.I promise to give updates only when I'm running good and always lie about my losses. swAnd yes I will certainly 'tell you when I go broke'
It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola when it's clearly Brie time baby!

I go to the NYC card rooms several times a week. Let me know when you'll be out and maybe we can hook up. NYC card rooms are definitely +EV (as long as you're not there when they get raided and lose your stack. It happened to me once).

Good luck and to the original poster and the other that replied about new york city cardrooms could you please pm me. I'm a fireman in new york, live in yonkers and used to play at EV players club. I think they got shut down, not completely sure but but they don't answer anymore and I would love to find a spot I could play at regularly in the city. I had the number for the All in club but lost it before I ever made it there. Anway I'd really appreciate any help and promise to bring my dead money :club: .
