I had a bagel and an orange juice for breakfast today. blueberry with strawberry cream cheese. fruitiest breakfast ever. the bagel was crap and clearly at least a day or two old so I'm never doing it again.when I finally got to the post office at the appropriate hour, I found out that they don't accept credit cards (for money orders). look, I don't know my PIN, and rectifying this situation is a pain, and I don't ever use cash, so why do I need a PIN anyway? it was 3:35 and I had until 4 to turn the thing in. I burn five minutes just attempting to find a branch of the bank account I actually use, then fold and go to the bank that used to employ me, where I've got a rather large chunk of my net worth stashed away. so I go in and write a check, obviously you know who waits on me. it's been however many months and everyone wants to talk, but I have like 10 minutes left, so I say something like, "I really gotta go or this woman is going to really enjoy saying she can't help me" and rush out of there.

I really, really doubt there was ever anything there, and I question whether I could be happy in a relationship with someone who is... well, not the brightest. I couldn't see any of that when it was all happening, though.

you wanna know something that is downright infuriating? imagine a practice essay question on contracts and i'm just murdering it. i know its about this and i'm putting down the law like its my job, but then i get to the end of the answer and i cannot find any law on this one very specific question. i need a definition. if an acceptance (of an offer) is sent through the mail, when it is technically received? when the guy gets the letter in his hand or when he opens it. if its physical possession then he's breaching by taking another job. if he had to read the letter then he isn't breaching. but that definition isn't in any of the outlines i paid 3300 bucks for, so i don't know for sure. well **** you and **** your acceptance by mail bullshit. what is this 1854? I QUIT.

like you too dog.and yes the answer is the mailbox rule. when a rejection is mailed before an acceptance (as in the problem), whichever is received first controls. the acceptance got their first, but the guy didn't open it. he then accepted another offer, and called the original guy to tell him he can't work for him. so the question is can the original guy enforce the contract. i said yes, assuming that "received" means physical possession. because then he would have received acceptance of a valid and still open offer before accepting a different offer that conflicts. but hell if i know for sure.
