6 handed home game, 0.25-0.50 blinds
everyone playing pretty loose, aggressive (it's St. Paddy's Day and we've gone through more than a few Guinnesses), but the button is a good player (and less drunk than most)

UTG+1 (~$40) raises to $2
Button (~$80) re-raises to $4
Hero (~170) calls on BB with card_clubs_k.gif card_clubs_q.gif
UTG+1 calls

(pot = $12)
Flop card_diamonds_k.gif card_hearts_q.gif card_spades_8.gif
Hero checks
UTG+1 checks
Button bets $10
Hero raises to $25
UTG+1 folds
Button calls

(pot = $62)

I don't like that card - what's my next move?

Looks like AQ.

I'd bet 1/2 the pot or so and then just fold. Try to represent AK.

Anyone's pretty much right with this one.

You played that as well as you could have in my opinion. Bet half the pot and if he raises, gotta lay it down. If he calls, hope that you grab another K or Q, otherwise you're probably beat.

I was stupid (/drunk) - thought about it for a long time, then checked
he bet $35, i went all in (for his last $35), he called with AQ

been bugging me all weekend since I knew i was beat (if not by AK/AQ, then by JT), yet i didn't let it get away...

oh well - i made the $ back on a hand where i had quad tens by the turn and was facing a bet and a raise!

I would have bet out the flop pot size. Your friend on the button would have folded if he was as good as you say he was.
However, check raising is okay too but you only raised him 1.5 x his bet. I would have raised him more, say 35 total instead of 25, so that he knows he's beat and obviously getting incorrect odds to call. I know that he didn't have the odds in the first place but when you almost just min raise someone, calling is often automatic, especially when you are drunk. If he calls your bet anyways and hits then there's nothing more you can do to get away from your hand. Just pay the guy off.

Yep. Why not bet into this flop? With 3 players, somebody caught something, but you are more than likely ahead; take it down now if you don't want to price in AJ/AQ/A10; otherwise you're betting for a value on a very good flop.

Granted that the raise was called on the flop, the A is devastating here. Unless he thinks you're full of crap and is holding JJ/AJ, you're creamed by a better two pair here (unless you're already smashed by a set). Bet half the pot and fold when you get raised. This'll keep you from having to make a tough decision if you check and he bets, with possibly pot-committal going on.
Fortune favors the brave.

there is a lesson here. Don't call a reraise with KQ.
I was suited/I had an ace
