it fine with his stats.
He may not raise a better Ace preflop, we don't know

We can bet/fold river, but I don't think this type of player is raising the flop enough times with something like 99. so rather than assuring value on the river, we instead get raised off best hand sometimes, or he folds his stupid 99 anyway.

How often is he playing a weaker ace like this?

a lot.

he can't put you on a strong Ace that's for sure.

You can 3-bet and fold turn more "safely", but info from a 50/0/1 guy is not real reliable. Plus you picked up more outs on turn

does everyone play this in ep preflop? i fold this hand all the time when im first in. a10 off is crap. i would hate to play this hand if im raised behind, and thats quite a possibility in most games. if i was in this hand i play the rest exactly like you did.

standard SSHE for loose games.
maybe this one was normally loose.
It's a lousy hand to play in an aggressive game, loose or not.

I play hands like this when I want to challenge myself, in marginal situations
I find a raise works pretty good in tighter games if you are playing it.

I'll very often come in for a raise in EP with this hand. It does depend on the table conditions. ATs I'm raising all day long.

interesting, its been a while since ive looked sshe. i have noticed ive been getting tighter and tighter in ep and looser and looser in lp. i think this just comes from playing in more aggresive games. would you be raising kqo utg on these type of tables or are you limping in. going over some hands it looks like i fold a10o but raise it up with kqo. i wonder if this is a leak. zach are you ever limping in ep?

I'm not sure if raising ATo is an SSHE recommendation, I haven't read that in months, and my buddy has had my copy for a long time.

I really tend to be aggressive preflop. I will very often raise ATo, KQo UTG, sometimes I will limp, but it depends on the table. If my raises are getting zero respect, as we are going to be 8 handed all the time, I may just limp with these.

As far as limping in EP, I'll limp QJs every time, pocket pairs 22-77 usually, unless the table is too tight, then I'll fold like 22-44, although it's not a hard and fast rule. I might limp A9s in a loose passive game. I dunno... there's too many different situations. I don't open limp often, but at .5/1, it is not a terrible thing, and can be profitable if done in the right circumstances.
