I'm puting my resume together. This is absolutely killing me. The best part is that the grapevine is telling me that these sites are now blocked permanently. I simply can't work like this...

And your company knows you can't work like that, which is why they banned it.

Nobody (but me) can access the high bandwidth sites here as well. That Iowa-Northwestern St. game was awesome.

This doesn't work very well for me. I'm good friends with one of our IT guys here, but he, unfortunately, isn't the unscrupulous type.
The most he does is tell me when I pop up on the high-bandwith list. That way I can lay low for a couple of weeks. He's not willing to bend any rules for me.

Yeah, where I work they track who uses the most bandwith everyday. If your name keeps showing up, IT comes to have a talk with you. And our main IT guy can be a real ****in' a.sshat if he wants, so it's best not to mess with him.

We don't really have an IT "department" persay, but I did catch the IT guy for our office checking the NCAA scores on SI.com this morning. I think I'm probably safe (read: If they haven't said anything by now, they probably ain't gonna).

Yeah, I'm usually safe with ESPN.com and FCP, as long as I stay away from streaming video and audio, I can stay under the radar.
Playing poker at work was a bad idea though...
All four times I did it.

Yeah, they've most definitely blocked out those ports. I tried to hit the FCP server so I could watch DN vs Dreamclown, and it didn't even try to connect.

I came in this morning hoping that perhaps access to my favorite sites would be restored. No such luck. The is the web-surfing equivilant of being castrated. I've had by far my most productive day of work ever. I can't take this...
Thank god for FCP...

me too, most of them are spent here. I know our IT guy and he doesn't care at all so I'm in the clear. But if I ever got a job where I couldn't get on I don't know how I'd make it through the day.
You can accept all in whenever you want, or whenever you feel lucky, but in virtual room's is not like in reality. In reality anything is possible... in virtual rooms you can be "the one" who knows the future, or who can change the future.

have you not tried a workaround? there's hundred of "anonymous surfing" sites out there
i used to use them to get to "various sites" at college. if you want, i'll pull up a couple of them for you to try.
