Fulltilt WSOP satelite freerollPlayer to my left has been raising damn near everyhand. Its still the first hour, but was trying to build a stack so I could be in decent shape and wait the craziness out in the 2nd and 3rd hour. There were only 3 active players at the table, most other were either sitting out, or playing too tight. This hand came upDealt AQo in late position blinds were 25-50 I had about 3k, opponent had about 3800. He raised to 220, I came over the top to make it 500. He called.Flop comes Q 9 3 rainbow. He bets 500 into a 1075 pot. I move all-in for what I had left. I figure top pair with top kicker is a better time than any to do it. He calls with Q 8.Hits runner runner J 10 for the straight. Wondering should I have pushed all-in preflop or mabye just called the 500 after the flop. Or is it just a hand you're going broke on no matter what?

Ouch.My first instinct says don't go all in preflop here, but it might have been your only way out. From the looks of it, he might still have called you, cause the guy was clearly out of his mind to raise a Q8oThat said, you made the move that most players would make, and got burned. Take solace in the fact that you were a better player on this hand :D

Your pre-flop raise looks fine to me as you get a chance to look at the flop; going all-in pre-flop is basically a shot in the dark. After the flop, he bets 1/2 the pot with his Top Pair, Weak Kicker. Your raise all-in seems fine to me especially with your read of his tendencies. Just calling would be a mistake as you want to be aggressive with your TPTK. He just sucked out on you as you were a heavy favorite after the flop.

stupid people and stupid plays sometimes get rewarded, that's what happened here against you. Not much you can do you got your money in dominating his hand and he sucked out big time on you, sucks
