$25 NL

EP raises to $1.50
Hero calls with QdQs
LP raises all in to $2.79
EP calls
Hero calls

Flop [pot = $8.37]:

2d2hQc

EP bets $5
Hero calls

Turn [main pot $8.37, side pot $10]
6h

EP checks
Hero checks

River
10c

EP checks
Hero bets $5

I thought about betting the turn here since it's possible the villain could've picked up a heart flush redraw, but I also thought it was possible that he could be in there with overs and was hoping to check behind to let one of them hit on the river. Also hoping that maybe if I checked behind it would get him to bet the river, since its possible he could bluff with overs or also be in there with an underpair. Looking back on it, I think I made a mistake and probably should've bet about 1/3 of the pot on the turn.

Thoughts?

Why not make a smallish raise on the flop. Hopefully he calls. If he checks the turn, which he probably will, check behind him. Hopefully he'll see this as a chance to steal on the river and bet. Then you can make another value raise. If the flop raise scares him off, you probably weren't getting anything more out of him anyways? Or not...

The only thing I think I might have done differently is put in another raise preflop. B/c the villain raised initially from an early position, but then just called the reraise, I would have to put him on either a strong A or a PP lower than yours. Therefore, I would have reraised the $2.79 all-in preflop (to maybe $6 or $7) to either make him lay down AQ, AJ, AT or KQ or pay more to out-flop you.

After deciding to just call preflop, I think you played it pretty well. The smooth call on the flop is definitely correct, IMO. I also would check the turn here hoping for him to bluff on the river. On the river, I think that you have 2 options: 1) bet small and hope villain has a real hand that he will call you with (which you did), or 2) bet big and hope that villain thinks you are stealing (if he does you probably get paid off if he has a T, Q, or perhaps even a mid PP). I prefer option (2) as it seems to have a higher EV. On this board, what hands will call $5 that won't call $15+?

I'm looking forward to hearing other opinions.
