He's in based on his pre roid performance aloneAnd unless they keep them all out Sosa Mac Palmiero and have proof against them all it just isnt fair to leave him outClearly his personality isnt gonna help himMaybe they will do a study and find the only clean dude was Albert Belle and put him in He's already in my stalker hall for that gps trick he pulled

I think it's his attitude that will keep him out. They need to use him as an example, right or wrong.

Yes, he should go in the Hall of Fame, but on his plaque it should acknowledge the steroids issue and his use.
Yes because Ty Cobbs says he was a racist and Gaylords says he threw spitballs and Cap Ansons says he was responsible for banning black playerswhere does it stop?

Being a racist has nothing to do with his performance. Can't keep them out of the Hall of Fame for thinking a certain way, no matter how horrible it is. Otherwise you'd have to list every bad thing about every player in the HoF..and that would just be stupid. Bonds cheated in the actual game of baseball and it is PROVEN beyond a shadow of a doubt. It should be acknowledged and used to prevent others from doing it. Same goes with other players who have cheated and have had it proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I don't think amphetamines have always been banned from baseball. Steroids have. Also....I don't know of any players that have been PROVEN to have used amphetamines or anything else for a long period of time. You can't just suspect all the players and acknowledge it...it must be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Bonds is the only player I know of where it has been proven. If there are others, than yes, they should be brought out too...and I am sure there are quite a few who have, but until it is proven exactly who is juiced and who isn't, we can't do anything about them.

Dude ever read Ball Four - its easier to prove amphetimine use than steroid use - prolly cuz they are in the locker room - and this season they are illegal - and watch what happens

Am I missing something? Where was it proven? I hate Barry Bonds but he still hasn't failed any tests that I know of, that's the only way it will be "proven." Did he do em?...ya most likely...but it hasn't been proven.

For everyone who says Bonds won't be in because of his attitude, remember that Ted Williams was demonized by the media as an enormous asshole.Based on pre-roid preformance, I have to think Bonds is in.But guessing what people will say in the future about the people playing right now is about the time-wastingiest thing we could possibly do, aside from being a Rockies fan.

A. He ADMITTED to the jury he used them. Conte told the jury Bonds used them. Reporters around the whole Balco trial have found tons of solid evidence to back it up..and his forehad grew. Foreheads don't grow unless....unless??? That's right..unless you are on the 'roids. Are you saying that when he told the grand jury "I took steroids" that he was lying?? Are you saying that Conte was lying about giving Bonds steroids so that he could go to jail or something?? Are you saying that Bonds just HAPPENS to be the only person in the world whose forehead grows naturally?? Come on...he took steroids. The Cream and the Clear are two types of steroids. He took them and admitted it. He took them.B. His alleged use of 'roids is between 1998-2003. No steroid tests for baseball players then. So..of course he isn't going to test positive in 2005 for steroids he took in 2003....seems to make sense to me.

The steroid thing is more important than his demeanor but ... Check out Kirby Pucketts stats versus Albert Belle - One in the hall of fame one not even close and Belle's stats (I'm not saying he was the better player) are superiourSportswriters - and then eventually players vote on members - being nice to them shouldn't count but it does. Williams problems I believe were mostly with the Boston media - plus he was a complete shoo-inOf Course Ted lost an MVP when he was absurdly left out of the top ten by a voter

DUDE...I am NOT saying that no players took amphetimines. Of course players did. I know that. BUT no particular players have been PROVEN to have used them. When we find out which ones in particular, then we can focus in on them and whatnot. I am NOT saying that Bonds is the "only" bad/dirty player in baseball..and I am NOT saying that Bonds is the worst person in the world...so I don't know why you keep on making poinits directed toward that.He cheated and it should be acknowledged, and the same goes for EVERY player who is proven to have done so. That is all. I have already said he should go in the Hall still, and I have said nothing to the degree that his records should be taken away or anything like that, so I don't know why everyone is coming at me like I am some all-time Bonds hater or something.

Hell no he shouldn't be entered into the Hall of Fame, I don't care what his pre roid numbers were- it's what makes it all the more a sin in my eyes in that he was already a great player- I will say this, I see this going one way, in that Barry will start blowing the whistle on others as well- he won't go down alone. Barry Bonds illicit behavior is a huge black eye on baseball, and the Hall of Fame would forever be tarnished if he was allowed to enter.

definitely yes.cheating is as old as baseball itself.if barry had been caught for cheating even once, then maybe you guys wouldhave a case.but if he took steroids, it is unclear if they were even against the rules back then, and if there were rules against them, they definitely werent enforced. its not cheating if there are no rules against it.the worst thing he is guilty of is possession of a controlled substance- not much worse than a traffic ticket from a legal perspective.the bottom line is that everyone in baseball tacitly agreed that steroids were ok.and that includes the fans, who didnt seem to care about why home runs were up, actually increasing their attendance and interest.is barry a bad example for youth? yesdid he likely take steroids? probably yescan you justify keeping him out of the hall of fame? nope

Steroids have always been illegal in baseball..and better yet, they are illegal in our country since the 70s I believe. (unless perscribed for some health reason). However, you are right, the steroid issue was never enforced or anything like that. His use of them should be recognized because he admitted to using them and it is proven, but he should still go to the Hall of Fame, mostly for what he did earlier in his career. Bonds isn't the only cheater, just the one who has been proven to have cheated..it should be recognized..but he is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. No doubt.

This is a bad question the guy may be the best player to ever play the game. personally I think he is the biggest Ahole ever but when he allegally did steroids it was not against baseball rules. Unless you can prove to me that Mantle and Mays and the rest of the hall of fames didnt use steroids you cant hold it againsy guys like Palmiero, Sosa, Macguire and Bonds.

A. Steroids have been banned from baseball AND illegal in this country for a long time. It was not very well enforced...but they were still illegal. B. Your last statement is just redonkulous. What about Pete Rose. He is PROVEN to have gambled on baseball..so he isn't in the HoF. Well..what if I said that unless you can "prove to me" that EVERY SINGLE OTHER HALL OF FAMER DID NOT gamble on baseball, then you can't hold it against Rose either. Surely that doesn't sound right. You CAN hold it against Bonds because it is PROVEN. Innocent until proven guilty...you can't just blindly accuse everyone else of being guilty of steriod use and put them in the same spot as Bonds until they are "proven innocent." That isn't how it works. Otherwise, I am accusing you of being a murderer. Prove me wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt, otherwise, you are a murderer.
