20 man tournament at a friends house, Two tables of Ten and everyone started with $2000 in chips. $100 dollar buy in first place gets $1,000 Second Place get's 500 etc..... Now that everyone knows what's going on here's what happened. Comes down to me and a jackass, The blinds are $1,000 and $2,000, I'm the big blind with A
7
, the jackass raises me $2,000 I just Call.(maybe that was a mistake I could have reraised but whatever I just called) The flop is the A
9
A
. The jackass bets 2,000, I go all in hoping he would think I was bluffing, well it worked the jackass called me with KING HIGH!!!! the K
and the 7
The turn is the J
and River is the 2
After I snapped out of it I was Left with $2,000 and I just went all in blind the next hand and lost. I had to get out of there before I did something stupid. Can someone please tell me the odds of that happening I Know after the flop there is only 9 hearts in the deck that help him because the 7 of hearts would have given me a full boat.

Ok, so he had 9 outs and needed to hit 2 of those 9 on the last two cards...Odds of turning a helping heart on the turn: 9/45 = 20%Odds of turning a helping heart on the river 8/44 = 18%Odds of hitting both is about 3.6% if my math is correct.Hope that helps!

It was actually 10/45 x 9/44, because there were only three flush cards when the flop came out and our hero didn't have a heart. I believe it's more like 4.5%.

I think both these guys are wrong, the first guy didn't take in account the burn cards and second guy didn't take in account the fact that we both had a seven threfore the seven of hearts would have given me a full house and the jackass a flush. So if someone can give me the correct odds on the hand I would appreciate it.

wow thats a pretty bad beat, but i got one that tops that, i was playing someone who , as u have clearly put it, was a jackass. His TI was L/A. he called with almost anything. It was about a 50 man tourney, final table with 6 ppl left and i had about 1/4 of the chips in play. i check my cards and i see A
A
so i come in with a standard raise of 3x the big blind which would be 12 thou. he raises me all in and of course i call. He had raised me all in many times before. i turn over my bullets and he shows a 9 7 off !!! i about pissed my pants laughing until the flop came 3
7
7
turn: x river: x and im knocked out in 6th place
The rule is this: you spot a man's tell, you don't say a f u c k ing word.
