hello all. im a long time reader 1st time poster. decided that i had to share this bad beat story. every month my fraternity sets up a NL holdem tournament $25 buy about 75 players top 10 paying out. im in the final 8 short stacked with about 10000 in chips with the blinds at 1500 3000. i get KK in the big blind, the chip leader on the button raises to 12000 puttin me all in, easy call. He flips over A10s, and the flop comes out AAK, im pumped right about now, but then the turn is the fourth A, the swing of emotion was horrible. and to add to it the river brought my fourth K - definately wished that this happened in a casino so i could collect a$2500 bad beat bonus or something, but all i got was an "sorry bro, heres a beer".

thats true that where i play, both cards have to play to collect, but it is "aces full or better, beat by 4 of a kind or better", but jackpot hands are different everywhere.

yeah thats pretty bad. However that flop is still dangerous for you although your an overwelming favorite. any A, 10, or runner, runner, pair gives him the pot. If that happens to me I dont get pumed untill I get past the turn. Too bad the turn was the nail in your coffin. :wall:

70-30 preflop and he still has 4 live outs on the flopI've seen much much worse, although the river is a true kick in the balls.
