Hey Daniel,
I've been watching High Stakes poker and have been amazed and appalled by the beats you have taken, but nothing was more appalling than Bob Stupak on your repeat "naked nut flush bluff" against F. Deeb. I really think Stupak owes you 79k ...I really think he's what caused the call and little else - from what I saw (I know there is editing) I think his hand he didnt show was 2 spades (since he wasnt playing just taking up space...he folded) when you made your river bet - he slammed his money and reacted totally out of line (as if he folded the spades ) then he made the comment "cause he's trying to win it right here" to Deeb then he got up and steamed away,...Then to add insult to injury he comes back and starts talking about calling the clock - to push a decision - We both know the longer Deeb took , the less likely a call.....Hope you get him to get involved in a pot with you before the show is over -they all cant suckout.....

Stupak was certainly acting very weird (and I'd like to read Daniel Negreanus opinion about that), but Deebs call can't possibly have had anything to do with that.

i don't think he bases his decisions on the advice from stupak, but clearly stupak is dumb enough that deeb can take his words and actions at face value. that might have given him more information which might have made him more likely to call.

DN did something questionable in a hand earlier as well - sorry can't remember the exact incident.

In a game of limited information, if you don't think a player is looking for any any ancillary or incidental input to make a decision, including key information about probalities of mucked outs then I hope you're at my table sometime soon.
When playing with kitchen table amatuers, nothing helps an experienced player's bluff more than the subtle oohs, awes and whiperings from mucked players when the flop unfolds and they would of hit.

I cant believe how tight chan plays. So far in two shows hes played pocket aces twice and kj suited where he got his flush and st8. Must be hard to beat the guy in cash games. I've watched all the shows and I think Farha is the best playing all different types of cards. DN its just one bad beat after another. He lost to the higher str8 and the full boat, hes lucky players didnt buy in for more or he would be down close to a mill. I have a feeling he'll make a comeback in the next show. Also get rid of Stupak hes only taking up space.

DN unfortunately has no right to be mad at Stupak since DN made a comment about, "everyone does it, so it's okay," when Todd Brunson was mad about players chatting through a hand.

I think talking about possibilities of what hands people may have (when that is simply stating the obvious) is much different then reacting in a way that may imply you mucked cards that could affect probabilities.
On top of that the implied threat of calling the clock - in a cash game when your not even in the hand is poor etiquite at best.

You're splitting hairs and trying to justify what Daniel did. This is exactly why you do not make any distinctions between talking during a hand that you are not involved in. Talking during a hand can be acceptable if it is not poker related. Talking directly about the current hand in any way, shape or form is outright bad form... and DN was condoning it.

Freddy is a great player. He made the call because he is a good player. The ex-hotel owner had nothing to do with his decision. He just has very poor etiquette when it comes to the poker table. He really doesnt belong there. Since he got rid of Stupek's Tower (Stratosphere) he's been missing the limelight I think. Thats the only reason why he's there. He's a poor player.

Having said that, i think Deeb makes the same decision either way. At that level all the regular players are smart guys, they dont need someone to tell them that another player could be bluffing when he makes a big bet. I think Deeb just knew Daniel was capable of that play, and Deeb went with his instincts and was probably tired of being bullied out of all his pots.

I don't think you understood what he was saying. His point was that, yes, random talking and talking about the hand are different things.

But Daniel had condoned a certain type of talking about the hand earlier, so he shouldn't get upset at what Stupak said. (which to my knowledge he didn't) Just some people here felt it was out of line, which I agree with.

I read Jenna Jameson's autobiography last year. She was a dancer in Vegas through the late 80's early 90's. She talks about how and Executive of a casino in Vegas used to pay her $1000 a song to brush her hair. I bet it was Stupak. He either was an owner of the Stratosphere or an executive. I can see that guy doing that kind of stuff. She also said the guy would never let him dance for her.

I have also been watching this series and you are right Stupak made me sick in that hand. I also thought the bet was to large. Deeb call was amazing , but he was feeling that he had been robbed by bluffs all night. A smaller bet and shut the dumbass Stupak's mouth and he folds!

Chan is the man in this game. His tight play is very profitable at this loose table.

If stupak was talking like that during a cash game I was in I'd be peeved. Of course Freddy didn't base his decision solely on Stupids...I mean Stupak's comment, but in a cash game any type of read from a known player not involved in a hand factors into your thought process.

Is everyone referring to the hand with Todd and Mimi when Todd asked Mimi how much she had left and DN answered for her. Then Todd asked again and again DN answered (as well as some of the other players). Todd then berated DN saying it was poker etiquette for "50 years" that players not in the hand don't speak.
