its probably an error...he probably won 20000.

The fined him for playing too many hands. They told him after the first 5 levels that if he played more than one hand in each trip around the table it would cost him $20 a hand over one per round. $20 is all he had left after they took out the fines.EStormOk(sw)

He placed a bet against himself winning the event. His bet was $19,980. By winning the event, he lost the bet so he won $20
