Raise/call river don't know what you'd be worried about. Thinking about it I would raise/cap. I think the only hand we could realistically be behind is 56s and thats even stretching it. I mean everything else would raise the turn to protect their hand I would think.I think i'd just call preflop rather then raise. You have a hand that plays very well in multi way pots but a hand that at the same time could be dominated by UTG's holdings.

I put this up as an example of where I'm trying to raise now.Although, I've probably always rasied this, perhaps not 100%So, it's a clear raise.Anyone fold to a 3 bet? (I know you all above don't)He did call two cold from BB.

For him to have you beat on the river requires him to have played it completely retarded.Who isnt going to lead the turn with TPTK after it gets checked through on the flop?Who isnt going to either lead or check/raise two pair or a set?Fewer people than the number that will 3bet a weak king on the river. Or maybe not fewer. But it's close. I 3bet KQs in late position if there're 3 cold callers in between, regardless of reads (i mean, getting 3 cold callers in itself is usually pretty telling). With only 1, im less optimistic about our equity versus the field.

ok..lets' end this and get to my point. He had AKs.I called a 3-bet.I know that it was the standard play. But it's hands like that which add up to make me the SLAP I am.I hate raising the river and losing. But I know that to maximize total gains, this will happen sometimes.KJs / KTs is what I was expecting

I think the river is close. BB did not raise the turn, which means he's:1) Has a weaker king and is afraid you have AK2) Has a mid PP3) Has a set3 is unlikely because he will usually bet the turn, afraid it will get chekced through.Maybe the river isn't that close at all. Raise.BTW, I really don't like your pf 3-bet at a tight table with an UTG raiser.

I would raise/call the river for the reasons others stated.I would also cold-call pre-flop. We want more people in the pot to compensate for our potential dominatedness. 3-betting just isolates us against an UTG PFR.

I usually am going to save this pre-flop raise for when the pot has a few more limpers. KQs is a good multi-way holding. However, I think it is important, even at 2/4 to mix up your play pre-flop and show down different holdings. KQs is certainly a hand that is strong enough to "mix it up" with. However its heads up value versus any early position raiser or cold caller is going to be bad. But, a player of your post-flop ability should be able to turn KQs in to an +EV situation, even with a pre-flop three bet. I don't mind the raise. It shows you aren't just playing by the book, and you are playing the feel of the table as much as you are the "math". I am guessing he has AK or A5 and played it like an idiot, but the times he has KJ, KT, K9 and other donkey holdings probably warrants a raise. I am curious to see if you (or anyone) thinks your hand has enough equity to bet the flop. (Obviously a flop bet has other advantages, like fold equity later in the hand)

Betting the flop would obligate us to bet all of the streets since ace high isn't going anywhere. Even after all that, they still might not fold UI, so I don't really like betting. We also could get check/raised by a small overpair.

I agree. The UTG raiser isn't going anywhere, and he may very well c/r us.

preflop.I do call here a lot, and hope for big multiway pot. Me? You kidding, lol. Big multiway pots with suited Marriages, love em.So, yeah, mixing it up.This has some advantage: Fold equity vs Poket Pairs, depending on flop, and also may shut out Ax behind me, increasing equity a ton, if no Ace in pot yet.is 3-betting a better play when no one has cold called yet, and it looks like we may be HU? Or do you girls fold if no cold callers yet? :club: *******************I'm so tired, been up 24 hours. just finished 328 hands at this table because I was too stubborn to leave a loser. Down 22 BB's at one point, came back to a $6.75 profit and called it a night.
