Have any of you seen or played or heard about the WPT game for your TV? Posted ImageI have a friend who does not have CABLE and who does not have INTERNET and who does not like to READ but he is interested in learning how to play poker. (I know, he should get cable and an internet connection. His house got hit hard by the Hurricanes in Florida, his room mate moved out and he is trying to get the house repaired and it is on the market. He just doesn't want any extra expenses and he is rarely home.) Anyway, I thought this would be a good game to buy him for Christmas. It got some good reviews on EB games http://www.ebgames.c...sp?pf_id=245439.So, please tell me what you think? It's only $20.00.

I haven't played it, but I have seen a commerical for it on TV. I believe it is a plug and play type thing. It doesn't go to the internet. It's more like a 1 person video game. And the quick screen shots looks like you go through the WPT list of events and you have to play them and try to win I assume.

I actually have the game, and it's not that bad. If you crank the difficulty on it, you can get some good play time in, and the tournaments are tough enough that you can't win one without much thought. It would be a great buy for the person looking to learn, because it's got a little tutorial on the game inside as well. It's cool.-Shawn K.

Thanks Shawn for your reply. I am glad someone else has it.I went to the mall and picked it up today. I think my friend Chris will enjoy it. He really wants to learn how to play. He has only played 3 very small tournaments and he did OK because all he did was call. He really needs to learn the ins and outs of the game. With his limited resources, I think this will be a good start. :D

I have always wanted to buy these kind of games that you see at Walmart but I never do.

Wow, nice reply after only, what, a year and some odd months? But, since you replied, I'm not really sure what provoked me to get it, but I was bored and was on a HUGE Poker kick at the time. Hence..........the game.

Noting, however, that I haven't played it since that post. Just a little too busy with live poker, internet poker, and.......well...........having a life.
