thrillsoft 0
I've been playing $.50/$1 NLHE for quite a while and have about 50,000 hands in my PokerTracker database (I've been playing much longer, but just started using PT a few months ago). PokerTracker Auto-rates me as a Slightly-Loose Aggressive/Passive (SLAP) and puts a green as an icon next to me. The thing is that I'm averaging 16 bb/100 and of the TA's and TAA's that it's rated in my system, more than half with more than a few hundred hands rated, have a losing record. What gives? If my style is so bad, why am I doing better than the TAG's that I'm playing against? Are there holes in my game that I should be working on? What are the "typical" symptoms of a SLAP and their weaknesses?
96roadster 0
Dont focus to much on the PT auto rate settings. They are helpful but dont tell the entire story, the one thing you might want to look for is see if your getting full value from your strong hands and work on value betting them more then you currently do

Yes, I definitely think that I don't value bet the river as much as I should. I tend to check the river a lot unless I have a very strong hand. A moderately strong hand such as 2 pair when there's a potential Broadway or when a backdoor flush may have hit, I always check. Or when someone comes along with me and I feel that he's on a straight or flush draw that missed and I'm out of position, I'll check to him 100% of the time on the river hoping to induce a bluff. This works a great deal of the time and I can get some extra money this way. However, PT may just view my check/call on the river with the best hand as a weak play, when in fact I was HOPING that the other person bet in order to induce a bet when he could not have called one by me.But still, after perhaps a check/raise on the river would do better in that situation to get my stats up, I suppose?
