classic home game moment

Recommended Posts

So last night I was playing at a home with some friends of mine... we were playing $.50/$1.00 NL and it's a friendly game that my friends and I play when we need a break from class or getting up at 12. Anyways, the funniest moment that I've ever witnessed happen in my poker playing days occured last night. I was in the small blind with A :D and 5 :). The flop came: :clubs2: :diamonds2: :hearts3: . There were four of us in the pot altogether and the flop got checked around. The turn brought a: :hearts4: The small blind checked, I bet $2, the next person to act called and the small blind also called. The river gave a: :diamonds10: The small blind checked again and I bet $5 and the guy behind me immediately went all-in the small blind folded and I was thinking for about 0.05 seconds when the guy who went all-in stood up from his chair and yelled "QUADS!!!" and threw up his arms and turned over his pocket deuces. Right then I threw my cards in the muck and everyone started laughing. I guess I had this shocked look on my face when he turned over his cards and my hand was tossed so fast that everyone else at the table started asking me if I would've called and I showed them my hand the guy with quads was pretty mad but said he was so excited that he just couldn't contain himself. Lucky for me

haha, nice for you!I always like in my home games with someone accidentally acts out of turn before me and calls an all-in, or goes all in. I'm like "thanks for making that decision for me!"

Ya, it was great because I was probably going to make that call, even though it is borderline with the two 2's on board, but how can I realistically put someone on a full house let alone quads.

I only won 75 bucks instead of 250 doing the same thing. I had boat on the flop with :spadesj: :spades6: and the flop came: :heartsj: :clubs6: :diamonds6: After he called my 15 buck bet on the flop and my 60 buck bet on the turn, I went all in on the river. I wasn't watching, i was staring at the board making sure i didn't just bet into a bigger full house. He said, "Do you have the jack?"And i thought he had pushed. I flipped over my cards. "I have a boat."Whooooops.He folded, of course.-PokerGeek
