Daniel, would a realistic goal be to reach the final table once out of every 10 tournament? Higher percentage or lower? i seem to remember reading Lederer say something about cashing one in ten

If you don't consider yourself at a disadvantage or advantage to the field, ie you are dead-even in skill with a hypothetically average player in the field, then your odds of cashing are basically: [places paid]/[total entrants]Drastically oversimplified? Yes. Flame on.

I don't know about the $1M loss in one day. If it happened, it was in a cash game. These are his 2006 tournament results, not cash game results.

Daniel,I heard that in one World Series rebuy event, you rebought enough times to buy a luxury car. If it so, can you give more details on why you rebought so many times? Is that your strategy? As for me, I only rebuy if I think I can take down my immediate table and just got unlucky to lose all my chips. :club:

if you have a late breaking table, the idea is to get as many chips on the table as possible if you feel you have an edge over the table. eventually, you're going to win a few consecutive all ins and wind up with a big stack, and then out play your opponents for the rest of the chips you've put out there, so when your table does break, you go into the later levels of a tournament with a huge stack.he also does it as stress relief

Ok, that logic doesn't make sense to me.What is a "late breaking table"?How are you eventually going to win a few consecutive all-ins?Thanks for the comments.
Thanks,

a late breaking table is one that the players are sent to another table later in the game. When you are at these tables, the table tends to go through several less heavily bankrolled players and more chips are available to increase your stack and put you in a better position for the next table you end up at. Once you win a couple all-ins, you are in a better position to play in several different ways. The most common being power playing the short stacks. If you have 10k in chips and the short stack has 1k, 500 is alot to them and they have a bigger chance of folding on a so-so hand or a draw. 500 to you isn't that big a deal and you can chance it with the same type of hand.In the end, if you are a good player, you will get quite a stack before moving.Hope that answers your question.Steve
