So here's the deal.

I've grown very tired of napster clones, and I've been trying to get my feet wet on some of the torrent sites out there and I'm not having much luck.

I heard utorrent suggested and recommended around here, so I gave it a shot, but either the download never started, or it did but wasn't moving at all, with estimated times of 3 days or something equally ridiculous.

Any pointers??

yeah it installed, i was referring to the downloads themselves.. sorry I didnt specify

I could be wrong, but I thin utorrent just "runs". No files on your hardrive.

Here are some tips:

Make sure you're not uploading too fast. The faster you upload, the slower you'll download.

Make sure that the seeders to lechers ratio is slanted toward the seed end. Seeders are the people you’re downloading from, and lechers are other downloaders. If there are no seeders, it won't download.

The best run torrent sites are porno site that you'd need to be invited to, but isohunt.com will do. Mininova.org is good too.
