Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is MP3 with [Ah], [Qc]. 4 folds, BB folds, MP2 calls.Flop: (10.50 SB) [9d], [Qh], [Ts] (2 players)MP2 checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls.Turn: (6.25 BB) [Jd] (2 players)MP2 checks, Hero... checks.villain is 35/9/1.8 through 107 hands.Villain has been making random raises in the past half hour, i ignored his preflop crap.I knew i couldnt bet/fold this guy...and i wanted to save potentially 2 BB. either he bets the river and i call, or he checks again and i bet.Am i missing too much value by checking?

Nuh uh.Given your read of the villain, checking is better because you are only getting called by hands that beat you, and when his hand doesn't beat you the board makes it too easy for him to outplay you.Checking gives him the same opportunity to bluff, we lose less when we are behind, don't risk folding a winner, and we get to showdown. If you decided to bet though, you would still need to call.Do you see why??I'm kidding :club: . We have a nut straight gutshot (and hidden two pair outs) along with a moderate chance of having the best hand, so we have to call a turn c/r getting 9.25:1.
