First off...I just noticed the Poker Mountain ad was gone...glitch?Saw Daniel tonight with one of our UFC poker players as consultants during the hollywood game.Anyway...I know Men "The Master" drinks plenty...and Scotty has a few...but do any of the top tier players in the game have much consistent success after imbibbing? Do any players enjoy a controlled beer or cocktail or two during a 10 hour tourney day?I love to drink during 2-3 hour tourneys...but there's no way I could last much more than that without going on tilt or falling asleep.Just curious if there are a few who can control their alcohol enough to play well with it in their system.~Lance

I drink copiously when I play the 1-3 game at the Excall when I'm in Vegas and still crush it.Of course, I imagine I could probably do that after being shot with elephant tranquilizer provided I could still say "I raise'.

I play just as good when I can barely sit up in my chair because I'm slobbering drunk. Like Phil Gordon said in Poker The Real Deal: "Nobody likes a drunk. A winning drunk is even worse."You'd be suprised how fast somebody goes from 0 to tilt when someone like me, who is so drunk they literally keep falling out of thier chair, gets a read on somebody and calls them down with bottom pair or ace high...and then knocks over thier beer.

For me it's a double edged sword. I guess I'm like Bill Smith was - at least according to TJ. When I'm only half in the bag, I'm good, but get stupid if I'm too stupid. I try to avoid playing drunk - except at low limits online, and have realized that SnGs when drinking are cancerous towards my bankroll. If I was playing in a live tourney, I think I'd try and stay sober until I was fortunate enough to make the final table, then since I'm already getting paid well, and the creativity/guts that come with having a few might come in handy, I'd have a few.

For me I find that drinking while playing online is a terrible idea. At the home game, it's better. The competition is weaker and people forgetting it's their action doesn't bother me nearly as much.I'm really posting though to give props to HtotheNootch for his avatar...

That's a fun game. I played it all night one night in October. I didn't drink too much though, I'm a cheap drunk, and I'm not sure how I would play. I don't play drunk. Some people seem to manage just fine. Nikki

Daniel drank a few times in cash games back in the day...I would love for him to respond about the time he was in a NL game in vegas and the next morning he went to his cash box was 80k short and he did not even rember losing it....I rember hearing this story online the other day
