Live 1/2 NL 9 handed. I look down at A icon_suit_spade.gif 9 icon_suit_spade.gif in the small blind, after 4 limpers. I limp and the big blind checks. Flop comes 6 icon_suit_spade.gif 6 icon_suit_diamond.gif 9 icon_suit_heart.gif , I bet $10, everyone folds to the button who minimum raises. (Two hands before he showed the nut flush to take down the pot. This is only his 5th hand) I call and the turn comes 10 icon_suit_spade.gif . I check as does he. The river is a 3 icon_suit_spade.gif . I lead out and bet $25, he minimum raises me again...are you calling or raising? (After his bet on the river, he had about another $150 left)

I probably just call, unless I have a good read on him...he could be being very sneaky with a boat/quads....or just being stupid with something like A6 or K6...67...who knows. Only realistic hands that beat you I think are 99 or 66.......but if he had those I see lots of people play it exactly like this...so I might just call here.

his initial min raise stops me cold and i'll put him on a 6 asap.

Did he make the same bet when he had the nut flush??

usually i'd lean on calling.
Thing is, he could think he has a made hand with trips here. If he's rubbish min raise him back, then rub your chin (j/k).
I'd just call if he can do a chip trick (i.e. he may be good but you've only seen him for 5 hands).

Yeah, just call. I wouldnt be surprised if he had T6. Boat seems the only reason for him to check the turn. Normally, I'd say it's a more reads-based play, but this is a definite call.

Yeah, he donked. You can't assume that though after only 5 hands. He didn't play like he was scared of the flush draw on the turn (he checked) or the made flush on the river (he raised). Maybe he's actually a great player and thought that you were betting on the scare card hitting on the river, and knew you would just call even if you had the flush and he wouldn't have to be put into a situation where he would have to make a big read, if you did in fact reraise him.
Savvy?
