I'm a huge fan of Opie and Anthony and I'm a fan of Danny N. as a poker player. I really think that under the right circumstances, the O+A gang and Danny could get along (to an extent, at least - I don't see Danny throwing cherry darts at a 50-year-old virgin's *******). Unfortunately, the circumstances weren't right when that opportunity arose, and instead of an interesting interview, we got an uncomfortable, cringe-worthy exchange. I'm really glad that the boys do what they do, and that they don't cower to celebrities and their egos (this is no comment on Danny's ego - from what I could tell, Opie and the ever-awful Joe Rogan didn't even realize his status as a niche celebrity). But obviously, when people are unprepared for their show, it can be sort of off-putting. I just hope that Danny realizes that he wasn't being attacked - that's just the way they are, and what their show is like. If he had come in another day (as in, if Ant were there) the whole situation could have turned out differently. And for any Daniel Negreanu fans who aren't familiar with O+A's fan base... there are some intelligent ones, but a lot of them are uneducated animals. Just a head's up.

They are the most successful and most blatent Howard Stern ripoffs in the business. They aren't worth the paper their paychecks are written on. They are so bad at what they do they constantly get kicked off the air. Stern has managed to do his show for over 20 years with nothing more than fines.I think these guys got thrown off the air for airing some kind of sex act (Oral I believe) from their studio during Mardi Gras.They are unoriginal and obnoxious. I wish Stern would have Daniel on. They constantly talk about poker and I think they would have a good interview and show respect to Daniel. Not like these losers.

O+A have their moments of stupidity, but their show is genius. Talk to any edgy (ie good) stand-up comic and they've probably been on O+A's show. It's because O+A give them a forum to speak and be heard, unlike Howard Stern, who has to have his mic levels higher than anyone else in the studio because of his bloated ego.They've never been kicked off the air for anything involving oral sex at Mardi Gras.They've never been fired because they're not good. They are always fired when they're in their prime wherever they are. They're so dedicated to their show that they'll sacrifice it all if it means staying true to who they are and what they do.The reason that a lot of O+A fans are coming here and stirring things up is because they're confused as to why Daniel didn't say anything at the time. Opie and Anthony originated at WAAF in Boston back in the early nineties. WAAF was a small station back then. They were up against the powerful, corporate, WBCN. ANyway Opie and Anthony were huge when they came on the air, they ripped WBCN apart and everyone in Boston knew who they were. Then one day, they told a joke that said, Tom Menino, (Boston's Mayor) had died in a car crash. That didnt go over too well, especially since Menino's wife was listening to the show. They were run out of Boston, spent some time in Rhode Island where they started to get syndicated across the country. They returned to Boston under contract from a new company, that company of course, was WBCN! It was a pretty lame move. Last year they dared two contestants to have sex in a pew at one of the big churches in NYC. The FCC kicked them off the air. Now ,I do believe, they are on a satellite radio station. Anyway, In daniels last journal, he mentioned that he did an interview with then, and that it was vulgar. Thats about the basis of the story, from what I can gather. I just wanted to let you guys know who Opie and Anthony are: because I am a True Bostonian and O & A are originally from the Boston Radio Market. If I wanted to tune in to hear an old woman complain for four hours, I'd call up my grandmother. She complains endlessly about her condo's management company. The ceiling leaks, they shovel the snow up to her door, the sidewalks are angled toward her garage... I don't turn on the radio to hear this. I turn it on to be amused, or, at the very least, to hear something interesting. Howard doesn't do this. O+A do. Howard was once funny, but he's just lost touch. He looks and sounds like a cranky old woman. He is just awful, and his move to satellite is going to bomb horribly.

HS is def better than O&A, and Artie is the man. I've listened to both, right now I listen to Howard on the way to work. Back to the thread, so what if Dan was put off by the interview. Last time I checked , people are allowed to say what they want in their journals. For guys who are used to pushing peoples buttons and claiming Dan is a joke, they seemed really pissed off about the whole thing. To quote Artie Lang "Whah Whah Whah!" People rarely like to be put into uncomfortable situations, but at least Howard knows this and doesn't give people crap for being uncomfortable. And the responses by the people of that website are priceless: fantastic arguements that make me want to respect their listeners :roll: Dan is the man, and if these guys can dish out played out d*** and fart jokes that Howard pioneered, than they should be able to just ignore a celebrity who didn't appreciate the interview.

I'm not gonna bash Opie and Anthony for being vulgar, b/c I'm a very big proponent of open discussion, and free speech, but, if you're gonna ask someone to be on a show, it would be polite to tell them something about the show, and perhaps make sure that their ok with the content of the show, but I just don't understand why people find this sutff funny.....honestly, I don't see how anybody with any level of decent intelligence can find their rediculous drible funny. Once again, I don't care what they say, I just don't think its funny and don't understand how anybody can say its funny. And, on that foundry music website where the guy said "He has no college education and he plays POKER for a living in dank, smoke filled casinos that overflow in booze and hookers. You'd think he'd be a bit more, well, guy-like." that's just flat-out disrespectful and to be honest, I don't think this guy deserves a job.
